    About the RWMWD

    Ramsey-Washington MetroWatershed District (RWMWD)

    was established in 1975 as aspecial purpose localgovernment (MN Statutes,Chapter 103D).

    The RWMWD mission is to

    protect and improve the waterresource and water relatedenvironment in a 56 mi2 areaincluding parts or all of ten citieswith an estimated population of165,000.

    The Lead local agency on water quality;

    Implements a CIP and provides cost-sharegrants;

    Conducts TMDL studies and is the implementingagency;

    Completes a Watershed Management Plan; and

    1) Integrating a Phase I MS4 (Saint Paul) with asmall MS4 leadpermittee(RWMWD).

    2) Designing and presenting a convincing WBframework (cost-savings, efficiency, WQ

    improvement) for MS4 negotiations.3) Drafting and executing MOAs (cities), a possible

    MOU w/CRWD and assure the MPCA is on-board.
