RajabecamethefirstplayerinOneDayInternationalhistorytobegivenoutby"obstructingthefield"againstEngland,inamatchatKarachiin1987.Englandhadscored263runsfor6wicketsduringtheir44overinnings.ForPakistan,Rajaopenedthebattingandhadreached98runswhenthelastballofthematchwasbowled,withPakistanneeding25runstowininthelastover.Duringthislastover,hehittheballandsprintedfortworunsthatwouldhavegivenhimhiscentury,butwaswellshortofthecreasewhenthefielder'sreturncametowardshimandRajaknockedtheballawaywithhisbatandwasgivenoutfor"obstructingthefield".
