The Vidyalaya reopened after summer vacation on 17 June, 2019

1. Examinations: -

i) Internal: - a) Revision Test for classes V to X was held from 20.06.2019 to 29.06.2019

ii) External: - a) The IAPT – MTA – PRMO – 2019 Examination organised by Mathematics

Teachers Association was held on 11th August, 2019 Selected students of VIII to XII sat for the examination.

2. Cultural Programme:

i) Vidyalaya was closed on 4th July, on account of Rathayatra. The boys of

junior section pulled a well decorated chariot around the campus jubilantly.

ii) Our Vidyalaya observed the Birth & death anniversary of Dr.Bidhan Chandra Roy on July, 1, 2019 as per the directive of the state government.

iii) On 1st August 2019, our boys participated in a Drama “DantaBichitra”.

iv) An Inter class ‘GeetiAlekhya’ was held on 3rd August, 2019. Boys of VIII, IX and X participated.

v) The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 219. The chief guest was SriSabyasachiHazra, Former Chairman and Managing Director, the Shipping Corporation of India. The Guest of Honour was ColonelDebasishMitra, Headquarter,

Bengal Subarea, Kolkata.

3. Bhavana Jayanti Swami Niranjanananda Jayanti was observed on 15th August, 2019 – by offering pujas and distributing Prasad at noon. The boys of NiranjananandaBhavana decorated their bhavana beautifully and special pujas were arranged. At noon ‘Prasad’ was served to all.

4. Cultural Competition: - i) A Quiz competition on Sri Ramakrishna, Sri

Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda was held on 13 July, 2019. A team of students from IX emerged first. The class VIII became 2nd& X boys became 3rd.

ii) The Annual Extempore Speech Competition of the students of class VIII to X was held on 20th July, 2019.

ii) The Mathematical Kangaroo Competition–

2019, organised by International Olympic Academy was held on 20.04.2019. Selected 608 students from V to X appeared in the examination.Result was announced in this time period. Boys received total nos. of 196 medals (Gold – 89, Silver – 53, Bronze – 54). 8 students received scholarships.We also received Best Principal, Best Co-ordinator & Special Initiative Award, and overall our Vidyalaya received Best School Award with a beautiful memento & 11,000 /- cheque prize money.

ii) The Rathayatra Football Tournament in the Junior Sectionhasstarted on 12.07.2019.

There are four teams from each class. iii) Our Vidyalaya has participated in the Subroto Cup Football Tournament, Under–17

& Under-14 group. This tournament was organised by West Bengal State Council for School Games & Sports.

iv) Our Vidyalaya has participated in the Sunfeast KSFL – 2019, U – 18 Tournament which has been started from 26thJuly, 2019.24 schools participated. Our Vidyalaya Team went upto Semi-final Level – defeating some premier school teams. In Semi-final our boys were defeated by 1 – 0 margin by La Martiniere boys. Man of the match: 1. Souvik Mukherjee (1st Match) 2. RahullMurmu (2nd Match) 3. Rahul Murmu (3rd Match) And also Rahul Murmu (Class X) is the Man of the Tournament.

v) Our School boys played a friendly football match with Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia on 03.08.2019.

7. Guardians’ Meet – And Inaugural Meeting of Class XI i) A meeting of the Vidyalaya

management with the guardians of class X was held on 14 July 2019 at Room 46 of the senior section.

ii) Inaugural meeting of the H.S. Batch (2019 – 2021) was held on 20 June, 2019 at room 46. Respected Secretary Maharaj presided the meeting and the chief guest was Prof.SatyajitSaha (Former Head, Department of Applied Nuclear Physics,Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics,Kolkata).

iii) The parent – teachers meet were held on 03.08.2019 and 10.08.2019 respectively for Junior Section and Senior Section boys. After the meeting Teachers and

parents partooklunch Prasad at respective Bhavanas.

8. Popular Talk – i) To mark the 125th Anniversary of Swamiji’s

Historic Chicago addresses, Swami SumanasanandajiMaharaj, President of the Ramakrishna Centre, Durban delivered a talk on “Inculcation of values through Swami

ii) On 21 July 2019, our XI and XII boys attained an interactive section and topic “Chemistry for Middle School Curriculum in India” with Sri AmitavaMazumder, a senior lecturer, consultant Academics, Dept. of Chemistry, Sri Chaitanya IPL ICON Batch.

iii) Sri Debasish Biswas, Arjun Awardee, Mountaineer and Everest climber delivered a popular Talk on 3rd August at Junior section Assembly Hall before the students of V to VII.

9. Miscellaneous – i) Mr. Abhijit Pal (Assistant Teacher of Life Science Department) retired from service

on 29th June, 2019. A farewell meeting was organised at the Assembly Hall. ii) Vidyalaya was closed for mini – vacation from 12 August to 14August, 2019
