Implementation of Online Building Plan, Online Trade License & Online Tax Modules

at 6 Offices under Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality

Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality has been planning to promote several E-Governance Services

at all its Branches so that Citizen of this Municipality area can find transparent and hassle-

free service. With the guidance of Joint Secretary, Urban Development and Municipal

Affairs Department, Sri Saikat Kumar Dutta and continuous efforts of Chairman, Rajpur-

Sonarpur Municipality, Dr Pallab Das and Executive Officer, Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality,

Sri Rabindra Nath Ray, Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality has already implemented Online

Building Plan, Trade License & Online Tax Modules at 6 Offices under Rajpur-Sonarpur

Municipality from June, 2018 onwards. Citizens of Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality will be

extremely benefitted by all these Services as the Services are fast, hassle-free and

transparent. All these services will be available at https://edistrict.wb.gov.in Portal. Citizen

of the Municipality will be required to apply at the portal and the required information and

documents will be available at the concerned Departments of Municipality. Then concerned

Department will verify all the necessary documents and if found ok those applications will

be proceeded further for approval and Certificates will be available at the Citizen end via

portal. Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality will promote more Online Services like the afore-said

services in near future to provide better service to all its citizen.

Housing for All

The Hon’ble president of India in his address on 9th

June 2014 stated that , by the time the

nation completes 75 years of its independence ,every family will have a pucca house with

water connection, toilet facilities, and electricity supply and access. Keep this aim in mind

Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality has also stated this housing for all project in 2014.After a

intensive demand survey in each ward our municipality had submitted the Details Project

Report to the central government.

Under this component, beneficiary can construct new houses on their own. A beneficiary

desirous of availing this assistance shall approach the ULB with adequate documentation

regarding availability of land owned by them.ULB shall validate the information given by

the beneficiary and build a plan for the house. The fund from the central government to state

government would be released for the construction; state Government should release

financial assistance to the beneficiaries in 3-4 installments depending on the progress of the

construction of the house. The progress of such individual house should be tracked through

geo tagged photographs.

Project Cost = Total Value: 36800 Lakh

Central Share = 150000 lakh

State Share = 193000 lakh

Beneficiary Share = 25000 lakh

In 2015-16 Housing For all Projects covered 883 numbers of beneficiaries of this

municipality. Presently 730 household constructions are completed in this financial year.

ULB should contribute 50% along with state for the purpose of infrastructural development

in housing for all projects.

In 2017-18 the total number of beneficiary is 800. We have received 1st installment of the

construction of dwelling unit. After the verification of land documents and and building plan,

benenficiary will start the construction as soon as possible.

Comprehensive Water Supply Scheme under AMRUT

Phase I

Out of 11 nos. ESR (elevated service reservoir), construction of 6 nos. ESR completed at Ward No. 15, 20, 21, 23, 34 and 35. There are 5 nos. ESR at Ward No. 04, 27, 29, 30 and 31 are also on the verge of completion.

Laying of rising main is almost completed except at few places such as Sakher Bazar, Kandarpapur etc. After the upcoming festive season, these works will be started and

completed as soon as possible. Jack pushing work at Garia Area and Subhasgram Rail Gate will also be started soon.

There is a water treatment plant including clear water reservoir under construction at Peyarabagan, Ward 31 and overall progress is about 30%. Out of two underground

reservoirs, one is completed at Ward No. 08 and another is in progress at Ward No. 04.

Phase II

Municipality is glad to announce that the DPR for Phase-II works amounting to about

Rs. 288 Crore prepared by KMDA has been approved by the Competent Authority. There are proposal of 8 nos. ESR, approximately 11.04 KM rising main and above all intake jetty and approximately 17.00 KM long raw water transmission main. Intake

jetty is proposed to be constructed at Bhoot Ghat, near BNR, Kolkata. Raw water transmission main will be mainly laid by open cut method and over pedestal at Tolly Nallah portion, though trenchless technology will be adopted at few locations.

AMRUT Project consisting of three phases is dedicated to supply drinking water to

each household of this Municipality. This Municipality, at the same time, is

concerned about the losses of water and probable scarcity of water in very near

future, even few cities of our country faced this in the last summer. With a view to

the same, this Municipality initiated an awareness program “SAVE WATER,

SAVE LIFE” in a large scale. On 17th August, the program was inaugurated by the

Hon’able MP - Jadavpur and MLA – Sonarpur South and Sonarpur North in presence

of Chairman, CIC-AMRUT & Water Supply, all Councillors and all Municipality

Officials at Jai Hind Auditorium. Expert in this field, Shri Samrat Moulik, a

mountaineer, trekker and cyclist, delivered a brief speech and exhibited the present

scenario how the water is being polluted and misused. Municipality is determined to

prevent misuse and loss of water. Much more is awaited under this program.

Repairing and Renovation of Existing Parks under AMRUT

Under Green Space Development of SAAP year 2015-16 of AMRUT, 05 nos parks at Ward Nos. 01, 08, 19, 29 and 32 were completely renovated. In the SAAP year 2016-

17, there were 03 parks renovated at Ward No. 12, 17 and 28. Now, development of 04 nos. parks at Ward No. 03, 14, 26 and 33 are in progress and will be completed soon.

These parks are being so arranged that can accommodate children of the local area as well as the elderly people.

National Urban Health Mission At Ward No. 05, newly constructed health centre is functioning in full swing. It was

inaugurated on 29.06.2019 in the astute presence of Hon’able MLA (Sonarpur-South), Hon’able MLA (Sonarpur-North), Chairman of this Municipality, CIC-Water Supply & AMRUT, CIC-Electrical, CIC-PWD and CIC-Health of this Municipality.

Urban Primary Health Centre at Ward No. 05

Construction of new health center under NUHM at Ward No. 21 is completed. At Ward No. 35, construction work is completed and scheduled to be inaugurated on 30.09.2019. At Ward No. 12 works are expected to be completed very soon.
