Women’s hockey continues to be one of the most explosive growth sports in Canada and our National Team program and players help define the sport on a world scale. Proudly, the Ladies First Hockey Foundation is in place to help these incredible National & Olympic athletes as ambassadors of Canada while supporting the development of Canadian Women’s Hockey. We could not achieve our goals without the help of so many people, including all of you, our many supporters, who have contributed greatly to our success over the last nine Good as Gold Weekends. The funds that have been raised and generously donated to our team members have enabled us to fulfill our Olympic dreams. Your help and support led us to Olympic Gold! Attending the Good as Gold Open provides us with the opportunity to meet and spend time with you and to personally thank you for your support.

The Ladies First Hockey Foundation, who stages this wonderful event in our honour, fulfilled their promise of taking care of our family and friends at the games. This allowed us as athletes to focus on competing, knowing our loved ones’ needs were met. It was a huge advantage that most other sports did not enjoy and played a big part in our success.

We invite you to join us again this year as we celebrate the success of Vancouver and look down the road to Russia in 2014 and another Olympic quadrennial.
