Section 130 Crossing Safety Funding• Section 130 was one of few dedicated programs
maintained in MAP-21.• AASHTO-SCORT needs to continue to advocate for
continuing the program in reauthorization.• Since 1976 in NC, Section 130 funds have completed
an average of 80 projects/year: • funded crossing warning system installations
and/or upgrades at 2,939 public crossings • provided for closure of 144 public crossings
• Hamberger-Horsley Letter• Continued collaboration with AAR, One
Rail, ASLRRA, and S4PRC is needed.

BeRailSafe is a statewide safety initiative of the NCDOT

information for all ages
