2019 firST-rOuND OrDerOn Dec. 31, 2018, Mike Mayock joined the Raiders as General Manager. A former NFL defensive back, Mayock served as an Emmy-nominated analyst and draft expert for the NFL Network since 2004 and handled color commentary duties in the broadcast booth on both college and NFL games for more than two decades.

Mayock’s NFL Draft analysis has been one of the most respected voices among media, NFL front office personnel and team scout-ing departments. His expertise has been featured within the NFL Network’s extensive coverage of the NFL Draft, including the show “Path To The Draft,” as well as the network’s exclusive cov-erage of the NFL Scouting Combine and the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Outside of the studio, Mayock served as the television analyst for the Philadelphia Eagles’ preseason games from 2015-18. He also served as a game analyst for NFL Network’s broadcasts of the Se-nior Bowl and Texas Bowl, as well as a preseason analyst for the Minnesota Vikings for several seasons.

In 2010, Mayock became the color commentator for NBC’s cover-age of Notre Dame football, teaming with play-by-play announcer Tom Hammond. In January 2011, he teamed with Hammond to call NBC’s broadcast of the NFC Wild Card playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks. The following year, he called an AFC Wild Card contest featuring the Cincinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans.

Mayock teamed with Brad Nessler to call the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football package from 2011-2013.

A 10th-round pick in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steel-ers, Mayock then played for the New York Giants from 1982-83. He is a member of the Boston College Hall of Fame, where he starred in football and baseball and received a Communications degree.

Mike MayOck

General Manager Mike Mayock enters his first draft in his role after joining the club on Dec. 31, 2018, and does so with plen-ty of ammunition in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Raiders have four picks in the first 35 draft slots in the upcoming draft, with three of them coming in the first round: 4, 24 and 27. In fact, dating back to 2000, only the New York Jets have had more picks in the first round heading into the draft, with four in 2000. The 2017 Cleveland Browns, 2013 Minnesota Vikings and 2001 St. Louis Rams also had three first-round selections. It is just the second time in franchise history that the club will enter the draft with three first-round selections. The only other occurrence was in 1988, when the team selected Hall of Fame WR Tim Brown with the sixth pick, Pro Bowler DB Terry McDaniel with the ninth pick and DT Scott Davis with the 25th overall selection, who recorded at least 5.5 sacks in each of his four seasons with the Silver and Black.
