Rasah to other parts of west Malaysia.

Many youths from Rasah new village have migrated to urban areas. As a

result there are about 30 abandoned houses in the village. Some villagers rent out

their houses to Indian households. Therefore, the population of Indian in this new

village is increasing.

There is a church called St. Mary church that was built when the new village

was established. Besides, there are 5 Chinese temples in Rahang new village. The

number of Chinese temples is not surprising as 90% of villagers are Chinese.

PROBLEMS

1. There are traffic jams in front of the primary school at the end of the school

season every day.

2. Some villagers point out that signage from the Highway to the village is poor.

The old signage was removed when the highway was constructed.

3. There are limited employment opportunities in Rahang new village. This

leads to an outmigration of the younger generation.

4. There are many stray animals in the village.

RECOMMENDATIONS

It is recommended that the school management considers widening the road in

front of the school.

An appeal should be made to the authorities to put up clear signages from the

Highway to the village.

New investment need to be drawn to Rahang new village to boost the local

economy. This is essential if this village plans to keep its younger generation who are

the future of this village.

Perhaps the tourism value of this village needs to be publicized and enhanced.

The St. Mary’s church is a historic building and the local Chinese temples are

testament to the village’s cultural heritage.
