SHORT STORIES

I took this from a Novel. This is such a touching story, and I confess, it really got me thinking about ALL

the blessings we take for granted. It also helped me remember that I am not alone- angels come in many

forms, and in perfect moments. Seize the day- hug your honey- count your blessings.

I walked into the grocery store not particularly interested in buying groceries. I wasn't hungry. The pain of losing my husband of 7 years was still too raw. And this grocery store held so many sweet memories.

He often came with me and almost every time he'd pretend to go off and look for something special. I knewwhat he was up to. I'd always spot him walking down the aisle with the three yellow roses in his hands. He

knew I loved yellow roses.

With a heart filled with grief, I only wanted to buy my few items and leave, but even grocery shopping was

different since he had passed on. Shopping for one took time, a little more thought than it had for two.

Standing by the meat, I searched for the perfect small steak and remembered how he had loved his steak.

Suddenly a woman came beside me. She was blonde, slim and lovely in a soft green pantsuit. I watched as

she picked up a large pack of T-bones, dropped them in her basket, hesitated, and then put them back... She

turned to go and once again reached for the pack of steaks. She saw me watching her and she smiled. "My

husband loves T-bones, but honestly, at these prices, I don't know."

I swallowed the emotion down my throat and met her pale blue eyes. "My husband passed away eight days

ago," I told her. Glancing at the package in her hands, I fought to control the tremble in my voice. "Buy

him the steaks. And cherish every moment you have together."

She shook her head and I saw the emotion in her eyes as she placed the package in her basket and wheeledaway. I turned and pushed my cart across the length of the store to the dairy products. There I stood, trying

to decide which size milk I should buy.

Quart, I finally decided and moved on to the ice cream. If nothing else, I could always fix myself an ice

cream cone. I placed the ice cream in my cart and looked down the aisle toward the front.

I saw first the green suit, then recognized the pretty lady coming towards me. In her arms she carried a

package. On her face was the brightest smile I had ever seen. I would swear a soft halo encircled her blondehair as she kept walking toward me, her eyes holding mine.

As she came closer, I saw what she held and tears began misting in my eyes. "These are for you," she said

and placed three beautiful long stemmed yellow roses in my arms. "When you go through the line, they will

know these are paid for." She leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on my cheek, then smiled again. I

wanted to tell her what she'd done, what the roses meant, but still unable to speak, I watched as she walked

away as tears clouded my vision.

I looked down at the beautiful roses nestled in the green tissue wrapping and found it almost unreal. How

did she know? Suddenly the answer seemed so clear. I wasn't alone. Oh, you haven't forgotten me, have

you? I whispered, with tears in my eyes. He was still with me, and she was his angel.

Every day be thankful for what you have and who you are.

In this fast-paced society it's easy to lose sight of what's important in our lives. Stop for a minute and think

about what you may be taking for granted this very day.

You may not have everything you want- most of us don't. What you do have is still worth cherishing with

all of your heart.

Live your best life everyday

……………………………………………………………………………………………

Years ago , a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast.

He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic .

They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic , wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.

As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received A steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. " Are you a good farm hand?" the

farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows, " answered the little man.

Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, Hired him. The little man worked well

around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern

and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A

storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!"

The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows ."

Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to

 prepare for the storm.

To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were

in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred.

The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down.

Nothing could blow away. The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed

to also sleep while the wind blew.

When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when

the wind blows through your life?

"Fate of a DREAMER

……………………………………………………………………………………………

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his

neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion

of water.

At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full

two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of

what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the

stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my

load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my

flaws, you have to do a lot of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/raghavendra-short-stories 3/25

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on

the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on

your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them.

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just

the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Moral:

Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have

that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

……………………………………………………………………………………………..

This is story of two Lovers, who finally got married, The girl was very sentimental and the guy was

romantic, but on the walk of life, problems, clashes, profession came into their life. She yearn for romantic

moments, time makes her husband different; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic

moments into their marriage has disheartened her about LOVE.

One day, she finally decided that "I wanted a divorce". "Why?" he asked.

"I am tired." she answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought. Finally he asked "What can I do to change your

mind?"

Looking into his eyes she said "Answer my question. If you can convince my heart, I will change my mind.

Let's say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, we both are sure that picking the flower

will cause your death. Will you do it for me?"

He said: " I will give you your answer tomorrow...."

She woke up the morning, find him gone, and saw a piece of paper on my bed, which goes....

My dear, "I would not pick that flower for you, the reasons are.....

"When you use the computer you always mess up the Software, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to

save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for

you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouthto tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes. I have to save my eyes so

that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I

can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful

sand...and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face...

8/2/2019 Raghavendra Short Stories

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/raghavendra-short-stories 4/25

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do... I could not pick that

flower yet, and die ... "

Her tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting... And as she continue on reading... "Now,

that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am

standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk...

She rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle

and loaf of bread....Now she is very sure that no one will ever love her as much as he does, and she have

decided to leave the flower alone...

That's LIFE, and LOVE. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one

tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model. It could be thedullest and most boring form...

Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this,

the pillar of true love stands... AND THAT'S LIFE

The Horse senseJust up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other

horse. But if one stops the car, or is walking by, one will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put

down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, one will see that it

comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her bridle is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know

where she is, so he can follow her.

As one stands and watches these two friends, one sees how she is always checking on him, and that he will

listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray.

Like the owners of these two horses, Nature does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or

because we have problems or challenges. We should watch over everyone and even brings others into our

lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by our Spiritual Soul

and those whom our condition places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others.

Two men were in a car when they had to stop at a red signal light. The man at the wheel did not say

anything.

The other man by his side, fretting and smoking, said, "The time we waste at these red lights - why, a man

could write a book!"

The driver still said nothing.

Finally the man beside him said, "Didn't you hear what I said?"

"No."

"How come?"

"I was talking."

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/raghavendra-short-stories 5/25

"Whom were you talking to?"

"I was talking to my SOUL," he said. "I've been making it a practice every time I get to a red light to pray

for one of my friends. It is wonderful how many folks I have on my prayer list and how many I have time

to pray for in this way."

"Prayer is an act in which we give expressions to the pressings and powerful wishes and hopes in the

depths of our being and yearn for their fulfillment. Human beings possess an innate and undeniable instinct

for prayer; Religion first came into being in response to it. Prayer did not come into existence becoz of

religion; it was the other way around. -Daisaku Ikeda

Pray for me .... For everyone you know.... For everybody in this world... for PEACE

…………………………………………………………………………………………….

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle & three bullets. So, he

decided that he would go out hunting & kill some wild game for dinner. As he went down the road, he sawa rabbit. He shot at the rabbit & missed it. The rabbit ran away. Then he saw a squirrel & fired a shot at the

squirrel & missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree. As he went further, he saw a

large wild turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining.

A voice spoke to him & said, "Pray first, aim high & stay focused." However, at the same time, he saw a

deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down & aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake

between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake.

Still, the voice said again to him, "I said "Pray, Aim high & Stay focused." So, the man decided to listen to

Soul's voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree & shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced

off the turkey & killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun & hit the snake in the head & killed it. &, whenthe gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond.

When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer & a turkey to eat for his family.

The snake (Evil) was dead simply bcoz the man listened to Spiritual Soul.

Moral of the story: Pray 1st before u do anything, Aim & shoot high in ur goals, & stay focused on Soul. Never let others discourage u concerning ur past. The past is exactly that. "the past." Live every day 1 day

at a time. Do not look to man for ur blessings, but look to the doors that only. Wait, be still & patient: keepSpirituality 1st & everything else will follow.

This is incident & a diversion, not just a mere story...

She saw the Doc come out of the operating room & asked "How is my little boy?

Doc said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but ur boy didn't make it."

She said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? She asked the nurse to stay with

her while she said good bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick curly hair.

She said, "It was his Abhi's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help

somebody else". I said no at first, but is stubborn, he is just 12 years. My Abhi had a heart of gold. Always

thinking of someone else.

She walked out of Hospital, after spending most of the last 6 months there. It was even harder to enter the

empty house. She entered & lay down across his bed &, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when she awoke. She found a folded letter.

"Dear Mom, I know u're going to miss me; but don't think that I'll ever forget u, or stop loving u, just 'cause

I'm not around to say "I Love U". If u want to adopt a child so u won't be so lonely, you can. He/she can

have my room & old stuff to play with. I won't feel hurt of cancer. I'm glad bcoz I wouldn't stand that pain

anymore. I know u r not happy with my decision of donating my body for research, but mumma, I won't be

using my body after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend 1 more day with his Mother. I just

want u to work something for children like me. Now, my pains are mounting high & I am leaving by thisnote that I will always love you. Ur Sun / Son"

She cried a lot that night, that night was like an oceans of tears & her emotions are like a small boat. Today,

I heard that she is owner of a cancer institute. Her son was like a sun to her of her own spirituality. This is

the meaning of Mentor, He waked up her spirituality & a feeling for doing something for mankind. I know

few people like this, like my mother, Jennifer Gallagher

……………………………………………………………………………………….

A girl asked her lover. Girl: Tell me. Who do u love most in this world?Boy: U

Girl: what am I to u?

Boy: "U r my rib. It was said that Nature created a man and took one of his rib & created Woman. Every

man has been searching for his missing rib, only when u finds the woman of ur life, u'll no longer feel the

ache in ur heart."

After their wedding, the couple had a happy life for a while. However, the youthful couple began to drift

apart due to the busy schedule & never-ending worries of daily problems. The couple began to have morequarrels.

1 day, after the quarrel, the girl ran out of the house & shouted, "U don't love me!" The boy replied

"Maybe, it was a mistake, u were never my missing rib! "Suddenly, she turned quiet & stood there. He

regretted what he said, with tears, she went home to pack her things. She said "I'm really not ur missing rib,

I am going."

After 5 years

He never remarried & She had married a foreigner & divorced. He felt anguished that she never waited for

him. In the dark & lonely night, he lit his cigarette & felt the lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't bring

himself to admit that he was missing her.

One day, they finally met at the airport. She smiled at him gently.

Boy: How r u? Girl: I'm fine. I am going to Delhi. Hey! Have u found ur missing rib?

Boy: No. Give me a call when u r back. U know my number. Nothing has changed.

she turned around & waved good bye.

Later, he heard of her death. Killed SN Bomb Blasts. Midnight, once again, he lit his cigarette & like before, he felt the lingering ache in his heart. He finally knew. She was the missing rib that he had

carelessly broken.

Sometimes, people say things out of moments of fury. Most often than not, the outcome could be disastrous

& detrimental. We vent our frustrations 99% at our loved ones. & even though we know that we ought to

"think twice & act wisely", it's often easier said than done . Things happen each day, many of which r  beyond our control.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………The Scratch on a Diamond

The story is told of a king who owned a valuable diamond, one of the rarest and most perfect in the world.

One day the diamond fell and a deep scratch marred its face. The king summoned the best diamond experts

in the land to correct the blemish, but they all agreed they could not

remove the scratch without cutting away a good part of the surface, thus reducing the weight and value of

the diamond.

8/2/2019 Raghavendra Short Stories

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/raghavendra-short-stories 7/25

Finally one expert appeared and assured him that he could fix the diamond without reducing its value. His

confidence was convincing and the king gave the diamond to the man. In a few days, the artisan returned

the diamond to the king, who was amazed to find that the ugly scratch was gone, and in its place a beautiful

rose was etched. The former scratch had become the stem of an exquisite flower!

WE can turn the "scratches" on our souls into something beautiful.

Thats why i always says “I am responsible. Although I may not be able to prevent the worst from

happening, I am responsible for my attitude toward the inevitable misfortunes that darken life. Bad things

do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in

perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure

the most precious gift I have – life itself.”

…………………………………………………………………………………………..

A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The

restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs! The farmer

replied, "There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs--millions of them. They croak all during the

night and are about to drive me crazy!"

So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the

restaurant five hundred at a time for the next several weeks. The first week, the farmer returned to therestaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, "Well...where

are all the frogs?" The farmer said, "I was mistaken.

There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!" Next time you hear

somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs.Also--

remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever lain in your bed at might worrying

about things which seem almost overwhelming--like a million frogs croaking?

Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all

the fuss was about.

Never blame a day in your life,

good day gives HAPPINESS,

 bad day gives EXPERIENCE,

 both are essential in life,

so enjoy today and everyday,

have a lovely day...!!!!

……………………………………………………………………………………………

An old man, probably some 90 plus years, sat feebly on the park bench. He didn"t move, just sat with hishead down staring at his hands. When I sat down beside him he didn"t acknowledge my presence & the

longer I sat I wondered if he was ok.

I asked him if he was ok. He raised his head & looked at me & smiled. Yes, I"m fine, thank u for asking, he

said in a clear strong voice. I didn"t mean to disturb u, sir, but u were just sitting here staring at ur hands &

I wanted to make sure u were ok I explained to him. Have u ever looked at ur hands he asked. I mean really

looked at Ur hands? I slowly opened my hands & stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up & then

palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the point he was

making.

8/2/2019 Raghavendra Short Stories

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/raghavendra-short-stories 8/25

Then he smiled & related this story: Stop & think for a moment about the hands u have, how they have

served u well throughout ur years. These hands, though wrinkled, shriveled & weak have been the tools I

have used all my life to reach out & grab & embrace life. They braced & caught my fall when I crashed

upon the floor. They put food in my mouth & clothes on my back. My Father taught me to fold them in

prayer. They tied my shoes & pulled on my boots. They dried my tears. They have been dirty, scraped &

raw, swollen & bent. They have held children, consoled neighbors, & shook in fists of anger when I didn"tunderstand. They have covered my face, combed my hair. They have been sticky & wet, bent & broken,

dried & raw & to this day when not much of anything else of me works real well these hands hold me up,

lay me down, & again continue to fold in prayer. He won"t care about where these hands have been or what

they have done. What He will care about is to whom these hands belong & how much He loves these

hands. & with these hands He will lift me to His side & there I will use these hands to touch the face of

God.

No doubt I will never look at my hands the same again. i will never forget him……………………………………………………………………………………….

The Law of Seed

A very interesting story about the law of seed. Whenever you are feeling down because of failures and

mistakes you made in life, do take time out to think about this law of seed. I am sure it will make you feelmuch better and ready to get up and get going.

The Law of the Seed

Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples

on the tree, each with ten seeds.

That's a lot of seeds! We might ask, "Why would you need so many

seeds to grow just a few more trees?"

Nature has something to teach us here. It's telling us: "Most

seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen,

you had better try more than once."

This might mean:

You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.

You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.

You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, vacuum

cleaner, insurance policy, idea. And you might meet a hundred acquaintances to find

one special friend.

When we understand the "Law of the Seed", we don't

get so disappointed. We stop feeling like victims.

Laws of nature are not things to take personally.

We just need to understand them - and work with them.

IN A NUTSHELL

"Successful people fail more often. They plant more seeds."

The WALK on CLOUDS

There was once a guy who suffered from cancer... a cancer that can't be treated. He was 18 years old & he

He walked down, he passed a CD store & looked through the front door for a second. He saw a young girl

about his age & he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door & walked in.

She looked up & asked “Can I help u? she smiled & he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever

seen before.

He said Yeah I would like to buy a CD. He picked one out & gave her money for it.

Would u like me to wrap it for u she asked.

He said “Yes”

She came back with the wrapped CD & gave it to him. He took it & walked out of the store., Now everyday

he bought a CD, & she wrapped it for him. He put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out & hereally wanted to but he couldn't.

So the next day, he took all his courage & went to the store. He bought a CD like he did everyday he took it

Later in the day. The mother went into the boy's room bcoz she wanted to remember him. So she opened

the closet. She was face to face with piles & piles & piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised & she

picked one up & started to open one.

Inside, there was a CD & as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it

up & started to read it.

It said Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me Love, Suvika

Again there was a piece of paper. It said the same thing

Love is... when u've had a huge fight but then decide to put aside ur egos, hold hands & say, I Love U.…………………………………………………………………………………

There was this guy who believed very much in true love & decided to take his time to wait for his right girl

to appear. He believed that there would definitely be sum1 special out there for him, but none came. Every

year at Diwali, his ex-girlfriend would return from Delhi to look him up. He was aware that she still held

some hope of re-kindling the past romance with him. He did not wish to mislead her in any way. So he

would always get one of his girl friends to pose as his steady whenever she came back. That went on for several years, whenever the ex-girlfriend came to visit him, she would be led into believing that it was all

over between her & the guy. The girl took all those rather well, often trying to casually tease him about hisdifferent girlfriends, or so, as it seemed! In fact, the girl often wept in secret whenever she saw him with

another girl, Still, every time, she returned, hoping to re-kindle some form of romance. But each time, she

felt disappointed.

One day she confronted him & professed that after all those years, he was still the only man that she had

ever loved. He never expected her to react that way. He always thought that she would slowly forget about

him over time & come to terms that it was all over between them. Although he was touched by her undying

love for him & wanted so much to accept her again, he remembered why he rejected her in the first place-

she was not the one he wanted. So he hardened his heart & turned her down cruelly. Since then, three years

have passed & the girl never returns anymore. The guy went on with his life..... Still searching for the one

but somehow deep inside him, he missed the girl.

On the Diwali of 1995, he went to his friend's party alone. "Hey, how come all alone this year? Where areall your girlfriends? What happened to that Delhi babe who joins you every Diwali?", asked one of his

friend. He felt warm & comforted by his friend's queries about her, still he just surged on.

The girl saw him & shouted across the floor for him. Unable to avoid her, he went up to acknowledge her.

"Hi..." the girl asked. "Hi!", he replied. She was slightly tipsy. She continued, "Why... Don't u need

someone to pose as ur girlfriend this year?" Then he answered, "No, there is no need for that anymore..."

"Oh yes! Must have found a girlfriend! Right?" He replied, "Yes......u r right!”

He left that place & finally realized that he has already found his dream girl, & she was.....the Delhi girl.

That was why he didnt bother to look further when he realized she wasnt coming back. It wasnt any

specific girl he was seeking! It was perfection that he wanted, & yes.....perfection!!

Relationship is Realization. Realizing that he had let away sum1 so important in his life, he decided to call

her immediately. His whole mind was flooded with fear. He was afraid that she might have found sum1

new or no longer had the same feelings anymore..... For once, he felt the fear of losing sum1.

Finally, he called her, he confessed his love for her & the girl was moved to tears. It seemed that she never

got over him! Even after so long, she was still waiting for him, never giving up.

He was so excited to meet her & to begin his new chapter of their lives. It was the happiest time of their

lives! But their happy time was short-lived. 2 days before he was supposed to fly to Delhi, he received acall from her father. She had a head-on car collision. She passed away after 6 hours in a coma.

The guy was devastated, as it was a complete loss. Why did fate played such cruel games with him? How

cruel he cursed! How he damned the Gods...!! How he hated himself....for taking so long to realize his

mistake!! That was in 1996.

The moral of this story is :

Treasure what u have...Time is too slow for those who wait;Too swift for those who fear; Too long for those who grief; Too short for those who rejoice; But for those

who love...Time is Eternity.

Enjoy the Coffee

A group of Computer Engineer, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university

professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an

assortment of cups made of Porcelain, Plastic, Glass, Crystal, some ordinary looking, some expensive,

some exquisite.

He told them to help themselves to hot coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in their hands, the

professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain

and cheap looking ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the

source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups andworse, you were eyeing each other's cups.

In order to renovate the house, sum1 in Japan tears open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls. When tearing down the walls,

he found that there was a lizard stuck there bcoz a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet. He sees

this, feels pity, & at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail, it was nailed 10 years ago when

the house was first built.

What happened?

The lizard has survived in such position for 10 years! In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving,

it is impossible & mind boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10 years without moving a single step--since its foot was

nailed!

So he stopped his work & observed the lizard, what it has been doing, & what & how it has been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard, with food in its mouth.

Ahh! He was stunned & touched deeply. For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard has been

feeding it for the past 10 years...

Such love, such a beautiful love! Such love happened even with this tiny creature ... What can love do? It

can do wonders! Love can do miracles! Imagine? it has been doing that untiringly for 10 long years,

without giving up hope on its partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can't.

I was touched when I read this story & started wondering about relationships between family members,

friends, lovers, brothers, sisters.

As information & communication technology advances, our access to information becomes faster & faster.

But the distance between human beings . . . is it getting closer as well?

I ask you...please never abandon your loved ones.

LOVE is a gift, take it, let it grow.

LOVE is a sign we should wear, let it show.LOVE is an act, do it, let it go.

EAGLE can live up to 70 years, but to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision in its' 40's

Its' long & flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food, Its' long & sharp beak becomes

 bent

Its' old-aged & heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to its' chest & make it difficult to fly

Then eagle is left with only 2 options: die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days.

The process requires that eagle fly to a mountain & the eagle knocks its' beak against a rock until it plucks

it out

After this, eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back. When its' new talons grow back, the eagle starts

plucking its' old-aged feathers & after 5 months, eagle can take its' flight of rebirth & lives for 30 moreyears

……………………………………………………………………………………The Gift of Insults....

There once lived a great warrior. Though quite old, he still was able to defeat any challenger. His reputation

extended far and wide throughout the land and many students gathered to study under him.

One day an infamous young warrior arrived at the village. He was determined to be the first man to defeat

the great master. Along with his strength, he had an uncanny ability to spot and exploit any weakness in an

opponent. He would wait for his opponent to make the first move, thus revealing a weakness, and then

would strike with merciless force and lightning speed. No one had ever lasted with him in a match beyond

the first move.

Much against the advice of his concerned students, the old master gladly accepted the young warrior's

challenge. As the two squared off for battle, the young warrior began to hurl insults at the old master. He

threw dirt and spit in his face. For hours he verbally assaulted him with every curse and insult known to

mankind. But the old warrior merely stood there motionless and calm. Finally, the young warrior exhausted

himself. Knowing he was defeated, he left feeling shamed.

Somewhat disappointed that he did not fight the insolent youth, the students gathered around the old master and questioned him. "How could you endure such an indignity? How did you drive him away?"

"If someone comes to give you a gift and you do not receive it," the master replied, "to whom does the gift

 belong?"

"Power is so characteristically calm, that calmness in itself has the aspect of strength.”

"It has nothing to do with logic," the drowning scorpion sadly replied: "It's just my character."

There once was a happy monkey wandering the jungle, eating delicious fruit when hungry, and restingwhen tired. One day he came upon a house, where he saw a bowl of the most beautiful apples. He took one

in each hand and ran back into the forest.

He sniffed the apples and smelled nothing. He tried to eat them, but hurt his teeth. They were made of

wood, but they were beautiful, and when the other monkeys saw them, he held onto them even tighter.

He admired his new possessions proudly as he wandered the jungle. They glistened red in the sun, and

seemed perfect to him. He became so attached to them, that he didn't even notice his hunger at first.

A fruit tree reminded him, but he felt the apples in his hands. He couldn't bear to set them down to reach for

the fruit. In fact, he couldn't relax, either, if he was to defend his apples. A proud, but less happy monkey

continued to walk along the forest trails.

The apples became heavier, and the poor little monkey thought about leaving them behind. He was tired,

hungry, and he couldn't climb trees or collect fruit with his hands full. What if he just let go?

Letting go of such valuable things seemed crazy, but what else could he do? He was so tired. Seeing the

next fruit tree, and smelling it's fruit was enough. He dropped the wooden apples and reached up for his

meal. He was happy again.

Like that little monkey, we sometimes carry things that seem too valuable to let go. A man carries an image

of himself as “productive" - carries it like a shiny wooden apple. But in reality, his busyness leaves him

tired, and hungry for a better life.

Still, letting go seems crazy. Even his worries are sacred apples - they prove he's "doing everything he can."

He holds onto them compulsively.åGAiNST GRAViTY of L♥VE

It was a bitter, cold evening. The old man's beard was glazed by winter's frost while he waited for a ride

across the river. The wait seemed endless. His body became numb & stiff. He heard the faint, steady

rhythm of approaching hooves galloping along the frozen path.

Anxiously, he watched as several horsemen rounded the bend. He let the 1st one pass by without an effortto get his attention. Then another passed by... & another. Finally, the last rider neared the spot where the

old man sat like a snow statue.

As this one drew near, the old man said, "Sir, would u mind giving an old man a ride to the other side?"

Rider replied, "Sure thing. Hop aboard."

Seeing the old man was unable to lift his half-frozen body from the ground, the horseman dismounted &

helped the old man onto the horse. The horseman took the old man not just across the river, but to his

destination, which was just a few miles away.

As they neared the tiny but cozy cottage, the horseman's curiously asked, "Sir, I notice that u let several

other riders pass by without making an effort. Then I came up & u immediately asked me for a ride. I'm

curious why u would wait & ask the last rider. What if I had refused & left u there?"

The old man lowered himself slowly down from the horse, looked the rider straight in the eyes, & replied,

"I've been around here for some time. I reckon I know people pretty good."

"I looked into the eyes of the other riders & saw there was no concern for my situation. It would have been

useless even to ask them for a ride.

But when I looked into ur eyes, kindness & compassion were evident. I knew, then & there, that ur gentlespirit would welcome the opportunity to give me ride in my time of need."

Those heartwarming comments touched the horseman deeply.

Moral:

"I'm most grateful for what u have said," he told the old man. "May I never get too busy in my own affairsthat I fail to respond to the needs of others with kindness & compassion."

One day I decided to quit... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life. I went

"Look around", NATURE said. "Do u see the fern & the bamboo? When I planted the fern & the bamboo

seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the

earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on

the bamboo.

In the 2nd year the Fern grew more vibrant & plentiful & again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But Idid not quit on the bamboo."

"In year 3 there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year 4, again, there was

nothing from the bamboo see. I would not quit." NATURE said.

"Then in the 5th year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small &

insignificant. But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years

growing roots. Those roots made it strong & gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of mycreations a challenge it couldn’t handle."

"Did u know, that all this time u have been struggling, u have actually been growing roots?" "I would not

quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on u."

"Don't compare urself to others. The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make theforest beautiful."

"Ur time will come, U will rise high"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" NATURE asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I asked

"Yes, give me glory by rising as high as u can." NATURE said

There was once a lonely girl who longed desperately for love. One day while she was walking in the woods

she found two starving song birds. She took them home and put them in a small glided cage. She nurturedthem with love and the birds grew strong. Every morning they greeted her with a marvellous song. The girl

felt great love for the birds. She wanted their singing to last forever.

One day the girl left the door to the cage open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage.

The girl watched anxiously as he circled high above her. She was so frightened that he would fly away and

she would never see him again that as he flew close, she grasped at him wildly. She caught him in her fist.

She clutched him tightly within her hand. Her heart gladened at her sucess in capturing him. Suddenly she

felt the bird go limp. She opened her hand stared in horror at the dead bird. Her desperate clutching love

had killed him.

She noticed the other bird teteering on the edge of the cage. She could feel his great need for freedom. His

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

"ur son is here," she said to the old man.

She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.

Heavily sedated bcoz of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing

outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the

old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love & encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young

Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love &

strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away & rest awhile.

He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her & of the night noises

of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging

greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.

Now & then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son

all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding andwent to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.

"Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.

"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."

"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"

"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't

here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he

needed me, I stayed."

……………………………………………………………………………………………There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent

them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the

fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with

green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful,it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and

fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season

in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they

are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the

seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer,

fulfillment of your fall.

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Don't judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or late.

man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked,

"Were u the one who changed my sign this morning? What did u write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what u said but in a different way."What he had written was:

"Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it."

This is what True Love is all about, A True Story

I was suffering from fever. So I was waiting for my appointment with Doctor, It was a busy morning,

approximately 8:30 a.m., when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his

thumb. He stated to Nurse that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

Nurse took his vital signs and had him take a seat. Now my turn came, Doctor was talking to me about my

fever. Suddenly that Old man came to Cabin & requested to Doctor that he is great Hurry, Doctor saw me

for my silent approval, and I said its OK, Although I know I have to be there at my office before 9:00AM.

Doctor saw him look at his watch & start evaluating his wound.

On exam, it was well healed, so Doctor talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove hissutures and redress his wound.

While removing his stiches, Doctor & I tried him to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had another

doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to

go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of

Alzheimer' s Disease .

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he

was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, & asked him, "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you

are? "

He smiled as he patted my hand & said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is." I had to hold

back tears as he left & thought "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and

A few days ago I got a call from my old college mate whom I haven't seen for a very long time. The topic,

His Dad's declining health made him to stay at the hospital. Bcoz of his illness, his Dad suffered from

insomnia & often talking to himself. My friend, who hadnt been able to sleep for few days as he had to

keep watch of his Dad's condition, became irritated & told his Dad to keep silence & try to get some sleep.

His Dad said that he really wanted to sleep well bcoz he was very tired & told my friend to leave him alone

in the hospital if he did not want to keep him company.

After his Dad finished talking he fell unconscious & had to be rushed to the ICU. My friend was very sorry

for he had spoken ill words towards his Dad.

My friend cried like a baby on the other end of the telephone. He said that he prayed every day asking God

to let his Dad woke up from his coma.

He promised himself that whatever words came out from his Dad's mouth after he regained his conscious

would be gladly taken. His only hope was for God to give him a chance to rectify his past mistake, a

mistake that he might not forget for the rest of his life...

Often v complain when v have to accompany or to watch over our parents for years, months, days, hours or

even minutes. But does v realize that our parents keep us companied & watch over us for as long as v (or

they) lives?

What other words will replace the word "crying" when there r no more tears to shed from their eyes as the

tears r wasted to shower our days so that our life would grow & produce fruits & flowers to liven up the

dark days of the rotating wheel of life.

Actually, it takes only a 2nd to contemplate & light the lamp that will bring us to where peace is dwelling.

Now it's all up to us whether we want to spare our short time for a great & meaning life of our lives.

Once upon a time, there was a Selfish Man. He liked everything to be his own. He could not share his

One day, the man lost thirty gold coins. He went to his friend's house and told him how he lost his gold

coins. His friend was a kind man.

As his friend's daughter was coming from an errand she found thirty gold coins, when she arrived home,

she told her father what she had found. The girl's father told her that the gold coins belong to his friend and

he sent for him. When the selfish man arrived, he told him how his daughter had found his thirty gold coins

and handed then to him.

After counting the gold coins the man said that ten of them was missing and had been taken by the girl ashe had forty gold coins. He further commented that he will recover the remaining amount from him (the

girl's father). But the father refused.

The man left the gold coins and went to the court and informed the judge there about what had taken place

between him and the girl's father.

The judge sent for the girl and her father, and when they arrived asked the girl how many gold coins she

found. She replied thirty gold coins.

The Judge that asked the selfish man how many gold coins he lost and he answered forty gold coins.

The judge then told the man that the gold coins did not belong to him because the girl found thirty and not

forty as he claimed to have lost and then told the girl to take the gold coins and that if anybody is lookingfor them he will send for the girl.

The judge told the man that if anybody reports that they have found forty gold coins he will send for him. It

was then that the man confessed that he lied and that he lost thirty gold coins but the judge did not listen to

him.

 ____________________________........................................................................

A farmer had the misfortune of owing a large money to a moneylender. The old & ugly lender loves

farmer's Daughter. So he proposed a bargain that he would forgo his debt if he could marry his Daughter.

Farmer was horrified by this. The money-lender told him that he would put black Pebble & white pebble

into a money bag. Then the girl would have to pick 1 pebble from the bag. If she picked black, she would

bcum his wife & her father's debt would be forgiven. If she picked white 1 she need not marry him & her father's debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into

Jail

So on fixed day, As he was putting them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up 2 Black &

put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick pebble from the bag. Now, imagine that you were

standing in the field. She has three options

The girl should refuse to take a pebble. Or the girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag

& expose him as a cheat. Or the girl should pick a black 1 & sacrifice herself in order To save her father

from his debt & imprisonment

Here she has to appreciate the difference between lateral & logical thinking. Her dilemma cant be solved

with Traditional logical thinking. Well, here is what she did....

The girl put her hand into the moneybag & drew out a pebble. Without Looking at it, she fumbled & let it

fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles. "Oh, how

clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the Bag for the one that is left, you will be able

to tell which pebble I Picked." Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked

the white one. & since the money-lender dared not admit his Dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an

impossible situation into An extremely advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Most complex problems do have a solution. It is only that we don't Attempt to think.

……………………………………………………………………………………….

Once a man saw in his dream, that a lion was chasing him.

The man ran to a tree, climbed on to it & sat on a branch. He looked down & saw that the lion was stillthere waiting for him.

The man then looked to his side where the branch he was sitting on was attached to the tree & saw that two

rats were circling around & eating the branch. One rat was black & the other one was white. The branch

would fall on the ground very soon.

The man then looked below again with fear & discovered that a big black snake had come & settled

directly under him. The snake opened its mouth right under the man so that he will fall into it.

The man then looked up to see if there was anything that he could hold on to. He saw another branch with a

honeycomb. Drops of honey were falling from it.

The man wanted to taste one of the drops. So, he put his tongue out & tasted one of the fallen drops of

honey. The honey was amazing in taste. So, he wanted to taste another drop. As he did, he got lost into the

sweetness of the honey.

Meanwhile, he forgot about the two rats eating his branch away, the lion on the ground & the snake that is

sitting right under him.

After a while, he woke up from his sleep.

He asked his soul about that dream, his SOUL interpret the dream and said, the lion u saw is ur death. It

always chases u & goes wherever u go.

The two rats, one black & one white, r the night & the day. Black one is the night & the white one is the

day. They circle around, coming one after another, to eat ur time as they take u closer to death.

The big black snake with a dark mouth is ur grave. It's there, just waiting for u to fall into it.

The honeycomb is WORLD & the sweet honey is the luxuries. We like to taste a drop of the luxuries, they

r very sweet. Then we taste another drop & yet another.

Meanwhile, we get lost into it & we forget about our time, we forget about our death & we forget about our

graves.

This Life is Material, & the Hereafter is Far Better.

…………………………………………………………………………………………

The night fell heavy in the heights of the mountains and the man could not see anything. All was black.

Zero visibility, and the moon and the stars were covered by the clouds. As he was climbing only a few feet

away from the top of the mountain, he slipped and fell in to the air, falling at great speed. He could only see black spots as he went down, and the terrible sensation of being sucked by gravity.

He kept falling & in the moments of great fear, it came to his mind all the good & bad episodes of his life.

He was thinking now about how close death was getting, when all of a sudden he felt the rope tied to his

waist pull him very hard. His body was hanging in the air.

Only the rope was holding him and in that moment of stillness he had no other choice other to scream:

"Help me God".

All of a sudden a deep voice coming from the sky answered, "What do you want me to do?"

"Save me God".

"Do you really think I can save you?"

"Of course I believe You can."

"Then cut the rope tied to your waist."

There was a moment of silence and the man decided to hold on to the rope with all his strength. The rescueteam tells that the next day a climber was found dead and frozen. his body hanging from a rope. His hands

holding tight to it. Only 1 foot away from the ground.

Moral: And We? How attached we are to our rope will we let go??? Don't ever doubt about the words of

God, The GOD is our SOUL. We are creator of our fate by our actions and mindsets. We should never say

that OUR SOUL (GOD) has forgotten us or abandoned us.

………………………………………………………………………………………..When things in ur life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day r not enough, remember the

mayonnaise jar & the coffee...

A professor (Pro) stood b4 his philosophy class & had some items in front of him. When the class began,

he picked up a large & empty mayonnaise jar & fill it with golf balls.

After sumtime jar was full. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles & poured them into the jar. He

shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the

students again if the jar was full. They agreed.

The prof next picked up a box of sand & poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked if the jar was full. They agreed.

The pro then produced 2 cups of coffee from under the table & poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the pro, as the laughter subsided, "I want u to recognize that this jar represents ur life. The golf

balls r important things, ur God, family, ur children, ur health, ur friends, & ur favorite passions things that

if everything else was lost & only they remained, ur life would still be full.

The pebbles r other things that matter like ur job, ur house, & ur car. The sand is everything else the small

stuff.

"If u put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The

same goes for life. If u spend all ur time & energy on the small stuff, u will never have room for the things

that r important.

Pay attention to the things that r critical to ur happiness. Play with ur children. Take care of the golf balls1st, it really matter. Set ur priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand & inquired what the coffee represented.

The pro smiled. "I'm glad u asked. It just goes to show u that no matter how full ur life may seem, there's

always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

A woman came out of her house & saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did

not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in & have

something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.

"No", she replied. "He's out."

"Then we cannot come in", they replied. In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.

"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out & invited the men in"

" We do not go into a House together," they replied.

"Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, & said pointing

to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in & discuss with your husbandwhich one of us u want in ur home."

The woman went in & told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said.

"Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come & fill our home with wealth!"

His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion:

"Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!""Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife.

"Go out & invite Love to be our guest ."

The woman went out & asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our

guest."

Love got up & started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the

lady asked Wealth & Success: "I only invited Love, Why r u coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed

out, but since u invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also

Wealth & Success!!!!!!”

FLYING with BROKEN WINGS

…………………………………………………………………………………………….

My Dad used to ask me: "What is the most important part of the body?"

Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I

thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Dad."

Dad said, "No Many people r deaf. But u keep thinking about it & I’ll ask u again soon."

Several years passed before he asked me again. Since making my 1st attempt, I had contemplated the

correct answer. So this time I told him, "Dad, it must be our eyes."

Dad looked at me & told me, "U r learning fast, but the answer isn’t correct bcoz there r many people who r

 blind."

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge. Over the years, Dad asked me the same thing &

always his answer was, "No, but u r getting smarter every year."

Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Even my Dad cried. I remember, Bcoz it was only

the 2nd time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to

Grandpa. Dad asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?"

I was shocked when he asked me this now. Dad saw the confusion on my face & told me, "This question isvery important. It shows that u have really lived in ur life. For every body part u gave me in the past, I have

told u was wrong & I have given u an example why. But today is the day u need to learn this important

lesson."

Dad looked down at me, & said, "My dear, the most important body part is ur shoulder."

"It is Bcoz it can hold the head of a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on

sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that u have enough love & friends that u will always have a shoulder

to cry on when u need it."

Now I knew the shoulders are not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others. People will forget

what u said... People will forget what u did.... But people will NEVER forget how u made them feel. Be blessed. Be a blessing. Get ur shoulder ready...

……………………………………………………………………………….

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind,

please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by

would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the

man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked,

"Were u the one who changed my sign this morning? What did u write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what u said but in a different way."What he had written was: "Today is a beautiful day & I cannot see it."

Do u think the first sign & the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people

the boy was blind. But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat.

The second sign told people that they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day, but the boy could not enjoy

it because he was blind.

The first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were

not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:

Be thankful for what you have.

Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively

Invite the people towards good with wisdom.

I am a man who walks alone, and when I'm walking a dark road

……………………………………………………………………………………..There once was a boy who loved eating sweets. He always asked for sweets from his father. His father was

a poor man. He couldn’t always afford sweets for his son. But the little boy did not understand this, anddemanded sweets all the time.

The boy's father thought hard about how to stop the child asking for so many sweets. There was a very holy

man living nearby at that time. The boy's father had an idea. He decided to take the boy to the great man

who might be able to persuade the child to stop asking for sweets all the time.

The boy & his father went along to the great man. The father said to him, "O great saint, could you ask my

son to stop asking for sweets which I cannot afford?" The great man was in difficulty, BCoz he liked

sweets himself. How could he ask the boy to give up asking for sweets? The holy man told the father to

bring his son back after one month.

During that month, the holy man gave up eating sweets, & when the boy & his father returned after a

month, the holy man said to the boy "My dear child, will you stop asking for sweets which ur father cannot

afford to give u?"

From then on, the boy stopped asking for sweets.

The boy's father asked the saint, "Why did you not ask my son to give up asking for sweets when we cameto you a month ago?" The saint replied, "How could I ask a boy to give up sweets when I loved sweets

myself. In the last month I gave up eating sweets."

A person's example is much more powerful than just his words. When we ask someone to do something,

we must do it ourselves also. We should not ask others to do what we do not do ourselves.

MORAL: Always make sure that your actions and your words are same

……………………………………………………………………………………………One beautiful spring day a red rose blossomed in a forest. As the rose looked around, a pine tree nearby

said, "What a beautiful flower. I wish I was that lovely." Another tree said, "Dear pine, do not be sad, we

cant have everything."

The rose turned its head & remarked, "It seems that I am the most beautiful plant in this forest."

A sunflower raised its yellow head & asked, "Why do u say that? In this forest there r many beautiful

plants. U r just one of them." The rose replied, "I see everyone looking at me & admiring me." Then the

rose looked at a cactus & said, "Look at that ugly plant full of thorns!" The pine tree said, "Red rose, what

kind of talk is this? Who can say what beauty is? U have thorns too."

The rose tried to move its roots away from the cactus, but it could not move. As the days passed, the rose

would look at the cactus & say insulting things, like: This plant is useless? How sorry I am to be his

neighbor."

"What a proud flower", thought the trees.

The cactus never got upset & said "God did not create any form of life without a purpose."

Spring passed, & the weather became very warm. Life became difficult in the forest, as there was no rain. The rose began to wilt. One day the rose saw sparrows stick their beaks into the cactus & then fly away,

refreshed. The asked the pine tree what the birds were doing. The pine explained that the birds got water

from the cactus. "Does it not hurt when they make holes?" asked the rose.

"Yes, but the cactus does not like to see any birds suffer," replied the pine. The rose opened its eyes in

wonder & said, "The cactus has water?"

"Yes u can also drink from it. The sparrow can bring water to u if u asks the cactus for help."

The rose felt too ashamed of its past words & behavior, but then it finally did ask the cactus for help. The

cactus kindly agreed & the birds filled their beaks with water & watered the rose's roots.MORAL : Never Judged Anyone by Their Appearance.
