RAE’s Preformed Thermoplastic is a durable pavement marking system where pre-cut thermoplastic lines, arrows, letters, numbers, and symbols are easily installed by hand torch without specialized melting equipment or metal stencils.
Preformed thermoplastic pavement marking materials combine the convenience of pre-cut markings with the performance qualities of hot applied thermoplastic.
Engineered for enhanced visibility during both day and night, RAE’s preformed thermoplastic pavement markings are made with Swarco’s brilliant glass beads which are distributed throughout the material during the manufacturing process.
With installation using just a propane torch, thermoplastic stop-bars to bike symbols have never been so EASY TO INSTALL!

MARKING ROLLS
Thermoplastic Rolls and LinesRAE’s High-Performance Preformed Thermoplastic available in both pre-cut lines and rolls for Stop Bars, Cross Walks, Parking Stalls, etc. It is used by Military and Government agencies around the country.
The road surface should be pre-heated to remove moisture. The preformed thermoplastic should then be heated after being set in place to approximately 300°F, or until the thermoplastic begins to conform to the road surface underneath.

Pavement Marker (Thermoplastic) Adhesive Pads
Apply Thermoplastic Primer to the road surface prior to applying the preformed thermoplastic material. The addition of the primer helps strengthen the bond between the thermoplastic and the substrate, helping to eliminate early delaminating (loss of adhesion) - USE ESPECIALLY OVER CONCRETE!
On Portland Cement surfaces and aged asphalt/concrete having less than eighty percent (80%) bituminous concrete, primer-sealer should be applied to the area where the thermoplastic pavement markings are to be placed. This primer forms a continuous film and dries very quickly. All solvents should have evaporated from the primer/sealer prior to the application of the molten thermoplastic materials.
Surface Preparation:In order to insure maximum possible adhesion, the pavement surface upon which the pavement markings are to be placed should be properly cleaned of grease, oil, mud, dust, dirt, grass, loose gravel, and other deleterious material prior to the application of the Thermoplastic pavement markings, and/or primer/sealer. Cleaning is required on all surfaces that are to receive new pavement markings, and should be considered incidental to the application of the markings.
