Please note that if your child is off school due to sickness, there is no 48 hour rule in Secondary School. Therefore, if your child is off school due to sickness then they are able to return as soon as they feel well enough. Unless they have the Norovirus bug, they do not have to remain off school for 48 hours after the last bout of sickness.

A BIG well done to all Year 9 for completing their Community Challenge hours.

Year 7 Battlefields Visit: Important Information
We will be travelling from Dover to Calais on Wednesday 10 July, departing school at 06.00am - please arrive no later than 05.50am. We hope to arrive back at school at approximately 22.45pm on Friday 12 July. Please expect a phone call to confirm this once we are back in Britain. In the event of an emergency, please telephone me on 07938638089. The weather forecast is very good for the time we are in France/Belgium and pupils will therefore need sun cream and a hat for the duration of the trip. Whilst we want the pupils to be cool and comfortable, however we ask that you be mindful that they will be visiting sites of memorial and therefore should be appropriately dressed. Thank you for your support.

OZONE Reward Trip
On Wednesday 26 June some of our students went on a rewards trip to St Fagans. The students and staff had a
great time particularly on the high ropes and zip line followed by a visit to the museum.

First Give Final
The First Give presentation evening last night was a wonderful showcase of all the hard work and effort
made by Year 8 class finalists. Every student who presented should be incredibly proud of themselves.
There could only be 1 winner on the night however, so, huge congratulations to 8E students:
Sharmeela, Freya, Izzy and Hollie who won the £1000 prize for Marie Curie. Well done, super work!

Schools Creative Challenge Award
Congratulations to our Year 12 students Jasmine Thomas and Ellie Goodfellow for being shortlisted for the Cardiff and Vale College, Schools Creative Challenge award. It was a tough category with entries from a large cluster of Cardiff schools. The girls were shortlisted down to the final 8 and were invited along with their class to attend the awards ceremony and workshop with Sky Portrait Artist of the year Nick Lord. Ellie submitted a stunning self-portrait painting and Jasmine submitted a superb ceramic portrait. We are really proud of them both.
