With the recognition that any dowsing aidis primarily tuned operator feedback, thereemerged in the 1930's a series ofimprovements to the art, based looselyupon the popular conception of radio.These culminated in the "radionicinstrument", or "black box", which earneda loyal following among alternative healthpractitioners. In essence, they weredesigned to "hold a thought", in the formof numerically encoded dial settings, foranalysis and distant healing.

In my early years of study, I was fortunateto examine one of the first of such devices,hand-crafted by De La Warr laboratories ofEngland. Each dial shaft traveled over asplit steel ring and thereby varying itstension in proportion to a 0-10 scaleprinted on the control panel. In this sense,it was like adjusting the pitch of a musicalinstrument. Decades later, in his book"Beyond Pyramid Power", PatrickFlannagan would refer to similartopological effects as a "tensor" field.

A similar system, pictured below, was usedin the even more exotic De La Warrradionic camera.

Determined "Rates"

As time progressed, nearly allmanufacturers deferred to the ready-madesolution of variable resistors("potentiometers"), wired in seriesbetween the input and output of thedevice. There were a minimum of 9 or 12,each tuned to one integer in a numericalseries. Each of these "rates" representedto a particular organ, disease, or remedy.They had been predetermined bycompetent operators and compliled into apublished atlas. Dr. William Tiller statedthat the uniformity of their findings impliesa type of "universal code".

Irrespective of manufacturers' claims,rates, from Ruth Drown (the originator) toDe La Warr to Copen, are routinely usedinterchangeably. Drown's "Homo VibraRay" rate atlas can be purchased fromBorderland Sciences. Some instrumentsfeatured more tuners, up to 36, somultiple rates could be dialed in, one afterthe other, ie. to locate a disease in aparticular organ. Presumably, the machineknows where one rate ends and the otherbegins.

There were numerous permutations on thistheme, ie. capacitive tuning (different ratesystem), electronic and chemicalamplifiers, etc. Professional governingbodies documented the many apparentinstances of success on otherwiseincurable cases. Although the term"vibratory" rate was proffered byadherrants, it does not equate to thecycles per second (Hz) of conventionalelectronics, and hence has no directcorrelation with Resonant FrequencyTherapy (RFT).

Very often, the patient was treated inabsentia via a "witness" (sample) of theirblood, hair or saliva; invoking somethingakin to the theory of "quantumentanglement". It was placed into a metal

"well" wired in circuit prior to the tuningbank. With this superimposition in place,the presence within the molecularvibrations of the witness of any condition,represented by the tuned rate could bedetected and quantified using thetechniques described below.

In lieu of dial tuning, the Malcolm Rae"Analyzer" uses cards printed with asegmented circle in conductive ink. Theseare inserted into a slot adjacent to anenergizing magnet, somewhat similar tomy Wishing Wheel.

Homeopathic Potentizers

There were also specific rates tomanufacture any of the standardhomeopathic remedies. One compilationmay be found online here. Potency was setwith a separate knob. The output of astandard tuning bank was applied to blankpillules or tincture via a metal well orimmersion probe. Another versionemployed a simple magnetic circuit totransfer the vibrational activity of anysubstance placed the first well to a secondwell. Many instruments were, and are, soldfor this valuable function alone.

Homeopathy – How It Works and How It IsDone

Step 1: Analysis

Apart from the venerable dowsingpendulum, a new tuning innovation of thetime was the "stick pad", originating withthe percussive diagnostic system of Dr.Albert Abrams. This consisted of astretched gum rubber membrane. When

stroked in a slow circular motion, thefingertips "grabbed", thereby constituting aYES response This indicated a truthfulconjunction of dial settings; being thepresence of the physical reality theyencoded.

Furthermore, its extent or level of activitycould be measured by rotating an extra0-10 dial, labelled "intensity", until thesame positive response was felt. Thismethod also enabled vials of prospectiveremedies, simultaneously inserted with thewitness, to be assessed for their potentialeffect upon any tuned-in condition.

New or unique rates can be likewisedetermined. All typically consist of two toeight digits. This alternative process allowsexerienced dowsers to dispense with therate atlas, and perhaps find settings moreappropriate to the instance at hand. Theintended outcome is simply pictured in themind, or in the case of wishing to find arate for particular substance it is placd inthe well. Starting from zero, each tuner isthen adjusted in sequence, in a left-to-right, top-to-bottom order. If no stickresponse occurs, return that knob to zero.If this occurs for two consecutively, that isthe end of the rate. All following knobsthen remain at zero.

This "diagnostic" capability relies uponinstantaneous activation of sweat glands,much like a modern lie detector. Thedifference is that a information is beingaccessed on a supra-personal level, so it isclassed as "intuition". Even top-of-the-range instruments of today are

similarly tuned, albeit automatically.Thousands of rates are run in rapidsuccession, as a computer program, whilea change in skin conductivity iselectronically scanned for. Other modelsuse a slightly more subjective pressure-sensing probe.

Step 2: Treatment

Subsequent "treatment" may involveeither of two modes. For reinforcement,eg. boosting the vitality of an organ, orapplying the rate for a remedial substance,the dial setting was used as listed.However, to dissolve the energy pattern ofan unwanted entity, the corresponding rateis inverted. For example, the "diagnostic"rate of 10-6-4-0-2-8 becomes0-4-6-10-8-2.

Efficacy was found to rise with theintroduction of electric current, even just alow voltage incandescent lamp, oftenplaced beneath the stick pad to warm it forimproved tactile response. Here we arereminded of Edgar Cayce's claim thatelectricity is the closest thing to God in thematerial world. One of my mentors, HarryLang, added a black body radiator to hiscustom-made instruments.

Another benefit of systematic tuning wasthat, once "diagnosis" was completed by askilled physician, anyone, irrespective ofdowsing ability, could be instructed to setthe dials accordingly in "broadcast" mode.This was often the case at large clinicsspecializing in distant healing.

Twilight Zone

Despite eddifying appearances, radionics isobviously not rigorous technology. Oneleading British manufacturer even fittednon-functional circuit boards from surplussources; the so-called placebo effect. In aprivate conversation, the late GalenHieronymus, a pioneer in the field, told methe three-stage, vacuum tube "amplifier"within the widely used Wigglesworth"Pathoclast" (below) was only there toinvert the signal. His own versions,included the "Electro-Biometer", and werebased on his US Patent 2,482,773.

The Pathoclast and Elctro-Biometer were adifferent class of radionic instruments thatutilized electronic amplifiers and twohalf-plate tuning capacitors, calibrated"0-100"; the first labelled "location" andthe second "condition".

Some free-wheeling practitioners

substituted 10 x 10 peg boards,successively looped lengths of wire, adigital calculator, or hand-drawnschematics. In all cases, the basic principleof numerically defined, proportionalgeometry tuning remains the same. Asoftware-soundcard approach would be togenerate strings of frequencies in radionicproportion, with a gap to indicatereinitialization. One might even use rocksin a stream, bent saplings, pipes of achurch organ ... or, according to masonictraditions, the structural elements of thechurch itself.

Such a widening interpretation unavoidablyculminates in "sympathetic magic", whichasserts ANY symbolic representation ofintent will work. This is true to a degree,as evidenced by the homely array of"radionic" gadgets and software sold onthe net. Of course, the key is to select andmanage the right symbols. Radionicsprovides this ready-made through the ratesystem.

A true-to-form instrument itself confersseveral benefits: 1) the etheric imprint ofan established methodology, 2) concensusbelief in technology as a whole, 3) thepotentizing effect of detailed construction,and 4) an ability to be energizedelectronically.

It worth mentioning that it is far easier tomanifest something in accord with aprevailing dynamic, ie. nature'spredllection to restore health and

harmony. To influence somethingnegatively, or conjure up a disassociatedobject, like a pot of gold, implies a farmore extensive reorganization of thepre-material ethers. An additionaldownside is that any selfish intention tendsto extract requisite energy from theoperator.

Bolstered by this seeming disparity ofviewpoints, and lack of plausible science, aseries of AMA/FDA-sponsored court casesfinally eventuated during which medicalradionics was effectively banned in theUSA, and many instruments destroyed.Allied with homeopathy, it is still legal inthe UK, Europe and most other parts ofthe world.

Theories of quantum holography,non-locality and action-at-a-distanceprovide modern explanations for theefficacy of radionics.

Technology Baseline

The ultimate goal has always been tobolster the subjective dowsing componentwith hard technology. Recent attemptsinvolve electronically measuring skinconductance, lie detector style, while aprogram in the background cycles invisiblythrough thousands of potential disordersand remedies. Of course, this is only asreliable as the calibration and stability ofthe metering circuit, which are notoriouslyerratic. In the author's opinion, any homemadeinstrument can achieve the same resultwith only a little added expenditure ofpersonal energy. This is auspicious in itselfsince it translates into telekinetic power.Manual selection of potentially relevanttunings also ensures the operator has

genuine knowledge of the contributingfactors unique to each case. Therefore,only convenience and implied asurity ismissed by not investing in a far morecostly device.

Classic Circuit

This is perhaps the most basic version ofwhat can be reasonably termed afull-fledged "radionic instrument",illustrated as a semi x-ray view from thetop. For homeopathic preparation, theintensity knob can be used to approximatepotency.

The external antenna is intended to tap asource of relatively pure energy forsubsequent tuning. It may be a verticalwire or tube, cone, pyramid, orgoneaccumulator, metal plate in the sun, etc.,or combinations of same. The "witness" isplaced upon a stainless steel disk, fastenedto the top of the panel with two smallbolts, which double as the in/out terminalsbelow. A small disk magnet is gluedbeneath it with silicone, North-seekingpole facing upward.

Nine 100 Ohm linear potentiometers(tuners) are then wired in series. Indexeach one "0-10" over 300 degrees, as perthe numerical overlay on tuner one.

Maximum resistance occurs when thefitted knobs point to "10". Reference isoccasionally seen to diifferent resistancevalues. In practice it is the GEOMETRY thattunes. See Berry's geometric phase for anexplanation.

A 100mm square stainless steel plate isthen bolted beneath the control panel. Apiece of thin acrylic sheet is glued to thetop of the panel above it. This functions asa stick pad, and must be kept clean. Thepanel itself, normally recessed into ashallow wooden box, can be anynon-conductive material, ie. plastic,laminated masonite, etc. The "return" sideof the circuit attaches, via an alligator clip,to a metal water faucet or rod in theground. For safety, NEVER use householdwiring.

There are countless possible innovationsupon this format. Below are two examples.Use your dowsing ability to discover more!

1) Insert an 8:1K Ohm step-uptransformer between the tuning bank andstick pad to "amplify" the tuned signal. Theoptional capacitor can be used to tune theantenna.

2) Replace the square steel plate with thetwo relay coils of the 8Hz generator on theEarth Frequencies page. Energize themthrough the entire tuning circuit bysubstituting the antenna and ground leadswith the generator's drive signal to thecoils. This modification offers fouradvantages: 1) no external wiringrequired, 2) stimulation of "psychic"abilities, 3) entrainment linking theoperator to the instrument, and 4)sympathetic resonance of the output witha frequency intrinsic to living organismsand the planet itself.
