Our radio trailer last 45 seconds. To do this we had to

produce various sections of dialogue and also clips

from the actual documentary in order to create an

entertaining trailer. Our trailer was aimed for a BBC

radio. We created a backing track to last the duration

of the trailer; this was a mellow piano sound to add to

the effect of a serious topic. We created this through

the programme ‘garage band’.

Garage band allows you to create individual tracks that

are suitable for your specific documentary. It took the

group and I a few days to get to grips with using this

programme, however we have found it very beneficial in

producing a good radio trailer.

we have found it very beneficial in producing a good radio

trailer. We also added the channel and time and date that our

documentary would be shown, we did this to give the radio

trailer a professional and real appearance.

The final point about the production of the radio trailer was, in

order to reduce the amount of background noise; we recorded

the voice over in a separate, silent room. We did this because

we felt that background noise gives an amateur appearance.
