• This new feature is completely wear-free. • The operator does not need to keep a button pushed for

the release of operating elements. This results in optimum operating comfort, and work is becoming much easier.

• radiomatic® touch-to-activate is available for technos A, technos B and the spectrum series.

safety features

radiomatic® shock-off / roll-detect / zero-g / inclination switch.

In emergency situations, these safety features can prevent the uncontrolled output of control commands, protecting the operator as well as other personnel in close proximity to the crane / machine in use.

• radiomatic® shock-off can activate if the transmitter receives a hard impact.

• radiomatic® roll-detect can activate if the transmitter is unintentionally rolled.

• radiomatic® zero-g can activate if the transmitter is dropped or thrown.

• radiomatic® inclination switch can activate if the transmitter exceeds an inclination angle of about 45° for a preset time and / or lies face-down.

Depending on the ordered version, the features can operate in three different ways: • The complete radio system is shut down. • Safety-relevant functions are deactivated. • A previously defined function (e. g. crane horn) is activated.

These features come standard with the technos and the spectrum series. They are available as an option for patrol T, patrol L, keynote, vector pro, linus 4, linus 6 and eco.

radiomatic® shock-off. radiomatic® roll-detect. radiomatic® zero-g.

safety features

Vibration alarm.

• With the vibration alarm, the operator can be informed reliably of critical conditions on the machine as well as faults and potential dangers through the vibration of the transmitter. This results in significantly enhanced safety because the operator can react in time and prevent dangerous situations.

• The information type which is being transferred by the vibration alarm is virtually up to the customer’s choice. Examples where such an option can be a huge safety benefit are pre-warnings for high wind speeds or threatening excess crane loads. The critical value for activating the alarm function can also be set in accordance to the customer’s needs.

• The vibration alarm comes standard with orbit, eco, the technos and the spectrum series (except spectrum Ex). Unless specified by the customer, this excellent feature will activate when the battery is running low. Custom feedback indication is also available as an option. The vibration alarm can be deactivated if not required.

safety features

Shut-off on implausible control commands.

• The automatic shut-off of suspect movement commands will activate if a joystick is actuated in an implausible manner. If, for example, the operator moves the joystick successively in different directions in an irregular manner, the intelligent process can switch off the radio control.

• This option protects the operator from potential dangers as well as the crane / machine from wear resulting from rapid or erratic movements. At the same time, the machine is protected from wear because abrupt movements are avoided.

• Depending on the ordered version the feature can operate in three different ways: - The complete radio system is shut down. - Safety-relevant functions are deactivated. - A previously defined function (e. g. crane horn) is activated.

• In order to prevent unnecessary work interruptions, the automatic shut-off only intercedes after a sequence of multiple questionable movement commands.

• The function is available as an option for eco, technos A / B and the spectrum series.

safety features

Micro drive.

• With the micro drive function, the speed of the crane / machine can easily be limited to a preselected level.

• Even at full movement of the joystick, the operator can not exceed this speed limit.

• In this manner, demanding drive maneuvers can be managed with ease and inexperienced users can be protected from potential dangers that can result from “speeding”.

• This function is optionally available for all joystick transmitters.

safety features

Orthogonal drive.

• With the orthogonal drive function, the operator can only move the crane / machine into the direction that they initially engage with the joystick.

• The operator has to return the joystick to zero position before another directional command can be activated.

• Diagonal movements are not possible. • This is ideal for situations where the operator has to make

precision commands in confined areas. Dangerous situations caused by uninten tional diagonal movements are being prevented.

• This function is optionally available for all joystick transmitters.

• With the front panel lighting and the flashlight, the operator always has a clear view of the control, even in low light conditions or complete darkness.

• The front panel lighting consists of several LEDs which are integrated into the rollover bar or on the front panel and can be easily activated by a softkey or button if needed.

• The operating elements and symbols on the front panel are now clearly visible again and potential dangers due to a wrong operation caused by low light are prevented.

• The flashlight consists of a powerful LED light which is integrated into the front of the transmitter housing and which is also activated by a softkey or a button.

• The operator can use the flashlight to illuminate the working area and his path ahead. This ensures additional working safety.

• The front panel lighting and the flashlight are standard for the technos A / B and optionally available for the spectrum series (except spectrum Ex). The flashlight is also standard for technos 2.

Enabling switch.

• The enabling switch provides enhanced safety when the machine is in setting, service or observation mode as well as for machines with multiple operators.

• In order to transmit control commands to the machine, the operator has to keep the switch pushed into first step. Only then the other operating elements on the transmitter are unlocked. If the operator releases the button or presses it into the second step (e. g. because of a cramp in panic situations), all machine movements are immediately stopped.

• With this, the operator is protected from dangerous unintended machine movements in case he should lose consciousness or no longer has control over the transmitter.

• If an application is controlled by more than one operator, movement commands can only be performed if all operators keep the enabling switch pushed into first step.

• Suitable transmitters: patrol series, vector pro, eco, the technos and the spectrum series.

safety features

Optimal communication in specific working situations.

focus DServing as an external antenna, focus D ensures an optimal radio connection for radio systems with DECT technology.

focus T• As an external RF module, focus T offers a perfect radio

connection even under difficult circumstances over a great distance.

• Depending on the working situation, up to 15 modules can be installed in different positions. As additional receivers, they receive all commands from the radio transmitter and relay it to the central radio receiver.

• There they are analyzed and sent to the crane / machine as output commands. Thus obstacles in the radio path can be avoided efficiently and even longer distances can be bridged with ease.

The focus modules can be combined with all HBC receivers of the radiobus® generation.

focus modules

The clever way to evade obstacles in the radio path.

• Certain application scenarios may require controlling a machine from a physically separated area – for example when the operator is in a cab.

• Such a physical separation can impair transmission of radio signals.

• focus E ensures a perfectly working radio connection even in such challenging conditions.

• The external radio module is installed as an external antenna outside the work area where the radio link is impaired and in an ideal position near the radio receiver. By means of cables, the operator can connect the module to the radio transmitter and the voltage supply.

• focus E will send the control commands to the radio receiver and thus neutralize the shielding effect of the cab or control room.

• focus E can be used with technos A, technos B and the spectrum series.

radiomatic® report

User identification: the safe and easy way to manage access rights.

• As part of the radiomatic® report concept, the user identification feature is based on merlin® TUC (= Transmitter User Card). With its key function it protects the control from unauthorized use.

• At the same time it enables the identification of the user and the personalization of the radio control.

• Thus safety-relevant functions can be limited to authorized personnel only.

• In combination with an HBC data logger, the function offers numerous advantages for the operators of the system: The radio system can store various operational data for each user, such as the operating hours of the radio system or the number of drive commands given. These pieces of information can be very useful when service questions arise.

• User identification is available for keynote, linus 4, eco, the technos and the spectrum series.

New

radiomatic® report

HBC data logger: useful operational data conveniently at hand.

• radiomatic® report via the HBC data logger enables the collection of a wide range of operational data on the radio control, such as the operating time of individual drives, down to the exact second.

• This device can be used separately or in combination with the HBC user identification via merlin® TUC (Transmitter User Card). In this combination, data are collected individually for each user. Then it is easy to determine how long the crane was used by which user and with which functions the user has worked.

• In addition, it is also possible to calculate the loads carried by individual cranes.

• The collected data can be helpful in various situations, for example in service cases.

• The data are easily read out via a Bluetooth® interface and are visualized with a newly developed software.

• The HBC data logger is available for all HBC radio systems with CAN interface.

radiomatic® report

Self-contained unit: valuable features now available without radio system.

• The complimentary self-contained unit of radiomatic® report allows to benefit from radiomatic® report functions even if there is no radio control installed on the machine.

• The innovation is directly connected to the machine electronics with a plug.

• In order to start the machine, the operator has to hold a suitable merlin® TUC (Transmitter User Card) in front of the activated device. The operator can then control the machine as usual. This clever feature protects the machine from unauthorized use.

• In addition, the individual configuration of the merlin® TUCs enables the easy organization of company-internal access rights to machines.

• Optionally, this version of radiomatic® report can be connected to a HBC data logger. It is integrated directly into the device and offers the exact, user-specific collection of all login times.
