The Bishops’ Call for Peace and the Self-Development of Peoples
EIGHT PRINCIPLES
FOR HOW
PEOPLE SHOULD ACT
ON THE

We believeThat our struggle for justice must be based on:
•New understandings
•New attitudes
•New relationships and
•Must be reflected in
•the laws,
•policies,
•structures and
•practices of both Church and State

Who are these children of god under the skin?
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
•What is their faith?
•Are they reasonably happy/sad/other?
•Do they have siblings?
•Tell them about yourself under the skin!
•Did they have a happy childhood? How do you know?
•What are they like inside?
•Are you the same or different?

If sin is understood as
Separated from God, then
Psalm 106:6We've sinned a lot, both we and our parents; We've fallen short, hurt a lot of people. [The Message]
What next?
We can all SHAKE HANDS and HUG and PRAY that our friendship will be an inspiration to others ……… .and we
might make a small difference in a big world.
Talk about it!
Another way to say it!•Ubuntu – “I am human, therefore, you are human!”
•Namasté – “The God in me greets the God in you.”
•Feeling SUPERIOR requires that someone else is INFERIOR.
•Good-bye to: Racism as the belief that one race is innately superior to all other races.
•Good-bye to: There is no place for people of other faiths in my Godly universe!
SISTERS JOIN HANDS TOGETHERWe commit ourselves as individuals and as a community to follow Jesus Christ in Word and Deed and to struggle for the rights and the self-determination of every person and group of persons.
And together, the Sisters say, AMEN
