Collaged Space and the Body

Combining multiple spaces into one image creates a three dimensional collage. Inspired by Dioramas I have layered colours, textures, props and the human form to build up a single space. Each coloured or textured surface replicates a different space. Fractured body parts sit in the spaces adding shape and form. The camera captures and flattens the space into an image. Narrative echoes in the collages as it lets individuals input their perceptions.

Woven Hallways- A Sensorial Space

Hallways made from ivory fabric suspended from the ceiling. The simplistic paths of the maze are not made to test the viewer’s ability to navigate but instead encourage the viewer’s ability to lose themselves within it. The physical space is made to inspire unique

emotions from each individual.

The thin walls reveal shadows of other inhabitants of the space and ripple as you walk

past. The clean colour acts as an empty canvas letting you input your thoughts. Conform

by following the paths or sneak through the gaps in the seams. Explore, play and immerse

yourself.

The Grandeur of The Miniature- Semiprecious Paper

Through the lens the miniature and the ordinary can become something magnificent. The eye can be persuaded to see the minute as life sized, and then understand the space as one that is accessible. Lighting and colour emulates precious materials and transforms paper into gems.
