Bobcat's habitats include forests, semi-deserts, mountains, and brush land. Most sleep in hidden dens, hollow trees, thickets, and/or rocky crevices.

Bobcats are strictly meat eaters. They stalk prey, pounce, and kill prey with a bite to the neck.

Bobcats usually mate in the early spring. About 3 kittens are born at a time. They nurse their young through their second month of life. Most hunting takes place during the day. The bobcat stalks, pounces, and bites their prey. Bobcats breed once, yearly.

The omnivore is a tertiary consumer, they consume the carnivore which is a secondary

consumer, which consumes another omnivore a primary consumer, and then consumes an

autotroph producer.

My organism is a carnivore. It consumes herbivores, omnivores, and other carnivores.

This shows that there are not many organisms in the stream, but most are of the good water quality class.

In class one it shows many organisms which means there is a good stream quality. In class two there are not too many but still some show that there is okay water quality. And for class there are zero, so this shows that there is no bad quality in the stream.

My organism has good effects from this information of organisms collected.

There is low dissolved oxygen which is good for the organisms to breath in the streams. And the pH is low as well which shows good stream quality.

The ideal nitrate and phosphate levels would be zero. The ideal dissolved oxygen level would be 10 mg/L. The ideal pH level for the stream would be 7.

My organism would benefit from being close to the stream because if near the marsh or mine some of the levels like the nitrates would harm its health.

If the temperature of the stream were too cold or too hot then my animal may not be able to drink or bathe in it. That would lead to health problems for my animal.

• The current stream conditions wouldn’t effect my organism in a negative way. My organism could effectively be able to drink from the stream and use it in a way that would harm it.

•Things that would harm the riparian ecosystem would be pollution and not keeping the land around clean and natural. The common source of pollution in PA streams is sewage run offs. We must all try to preserve the riparian zone by not littering and having knowledge of where our water is going and coming from. By protecting the land around our streams, my organism will be able to wash, drink, and live life healthily and with out harm.

• In this ecosystem I learned that there are many insects in and around the stream. I also found that some of them keep our streams clean, and show if they are a healthy stream.

• What I found interesting was that some organisms that start life in the water(stream) can later live life out of the water and reproduce.

• I would like to research more about runoffs and how they affect any place in the world and not just this riparian zone.
