COMMERCE, Calif., eWaste Center, Inc, (EWC) has successfully achieved R2 certification and has met ISO 14001:2004 standards, the highest industry measurements for environmental responsibility and safety. R2 Certification, also known as Responsible Recycling Certification, provides verification of eWasteCenter’s environmentally responsible, safe, and transparent management of toner cartridges, cell phones, and other consumer electronics. ISO 140001:2004 is an international standard that specifies the requirements of an environmental management system for an organization, prescribing controls over activities that have an affect on the environment. EWC was recommended for both certifications after successful completion of a rigorous third-party audit over numerous areas of operation and environmental performance. The implementation of R2 and 14001:2004 standards at our Los Angeles- based recycling center is an additional step in eWaste Center, Inc’s continual improvement of our environmental impact. eWasteCenter strives to be a leading example to the recycling industry and the R2 certification and the ISO 14001:2004 standard will provide assurance to our clients that the organization responsible manages their materials, all the way to their final destination.
