Design of the Event Prometheus STAGE I

• Stock Exchange where news flashes will provide guidance to buy stock.

• Top 8 teams out of all participating teams will qualify for the next round.

• Teams can trade in the market or directly buy a stock from the company.

• In the market a team can give a range of price for the stock it wants to sell or buy.

• If the buyer’s and seller’s range overlap then a market trade will take place at the minimum price of the seller for which the buyer is buying.

• Communication between two teams will lead to disqualification.

STAGE II• Out of the 8 teams 4 teams will be Bankers and the other 4 will be Investors for round I.

• Investors borrow money from banks and then buy real estate properties.

• Banks cannot directly buy real estate properties but can lend money to investors at a rate.

• Banks can borrow from other banks too.

• Here each round will be divided into two parts :

1. The banks lend money.

2. The investors bid for a property.

• The highest bidder will get the property. A single round will go on for 4 years so rents are also applicable.

• The value of the property will generally increase but some factors may result in depreciation in value while some may result in their values to increase greatly. These factors can be made out from the news flashes provided. Bad debts are taken into account.

• The objective of the investor is to maximize his/her asset value while the banker needs to increase his/her total monetary value.

• In round II the roles will be reversed. Properties are listed on the map. Same number properties have almost same value.

• Relative scaling out of 10 will be done for bankers and investors separately for each round.

• The team with maximum points shall be the winner.

PROMETHEUS- The Flagship Finance event of Ensemble

This year’s participation should well overcome last years more than 1500 teams participating from over 30 B-schools in Ensemble.

Test the shrewdness of the teams from top B-schools in India and their ability to take risks just like Prometheus had done when he tricked the gods out of the best portions of the sacrificial feast and then stole fire from heaven and delivered it to the mortals.

Watch the top 8 teams battle, overcoming bad debts and using the money lending/borrowing rate to their advantage with stakes rising every round.

The best team will be the one which shall take fire into the darkness and help mankind in the way Prometheus did.

• List of Sponsors: Axis Bank , IDBI bank, ICICI, SBI, DLF etc.
