    The Apostolic Church

The Doctrine and Beliefs of the Apostolic Church

The Apostolic Church was founded by Rev. Daniel Powell Williams in 1916. He formed

the church from the New Movement from Britains First Pentecostal Church, The

    Emmanuel Mission Hall.

The Apostolic Church believes in the trinity. They also believe that one cant be saved

without baptism. The Church of Christ also believes in these two acts, but the Apostolic

Church also allows women to preach and have authority over men as long as they portray

a strong knowledge of the Word. The Apostolic Church needs to take another look at I

Timothy 2:11-12. In the Apostolic Church, a service usually consists of three to four

parts of worship, again proving why they cant be the First Century church. The

Apostolic Church also does not partake of communion every Lords day, further

discrediting their ability to proclaim themselves as the First Century church. In Acts

20:7, we can clearly see that this is a part of worship every Lords day. The Apostolic

Church has titled offices such as deacon, minister, evangelist, elder, pastor and bishop.

held by women. During worship in the Apostolic Church many members shout, dance,

chant and speak in tongues according to the upbeat tempo of drums and other musical

instruments. Speaking in tongues is considered a high level of praise in the Apostolic

Church. Many members say and utter words that no other member can understand, so

how can this be praising God when no one can relate to what is being mumbled? In Acts

2, we see that there were many nations speaking in its language, not just shouting

    gibberish.

Sources for my information consist of online material, Harry Woolford, my family
