• County Update:– Mr. Surma’s Retirement / Dr. Hildreth’s promotion– We experienced a 10.5% overall funding decrease from
2009-10 to 2010-11 ($33 million dollar decrease from the 2009-10 budget)
– School budgets were reduced to$50 per student – was $65.

• RSE Test Scores – Students who “Meet or Exceed Standards:”– Reading – 95.3%– LA – 93.3%– Math – 83.8%– Area of Focus: Students with Disabilities for all
subject areas
• What is Adequate Yearly Progress• Requirements for AYP (Grades 3 – 5):– Each subgroup has 95% participation
• A subgroup is made up of at least 40 students
– At least 73.3% of students in all groups meet or exceed standards in Reading and LA (same as 2009)
– At least 66.7% of students in all groups meet or exceed standards in Mathematics (was 59.9%)

• Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP):• Goal:– Each student will achieve 85% or more of his or her
individual growth targets* in all academic areas each year.
*Individual growth targets will be set based on multiple sources of student achievement such as Common Formative Assessments, STAR, Georgia Writing Assessments, ALEKS, AR and/or GKIDS.
• Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP):• Strategies:
1. All teachers will implement data-driven standards-based instruction.
2. Assessment for learning will be used to ensure continuous monitoring of student progress in all academic areas.
3. All teachers will develop culturally relevant instruction that considers contextual factors such as language, heritage, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and disabilities that impact student achievement.
