How to Create a Friendship in 90 Seconds was the title of an article I read recently while standing in line for a cup of double latte. The author offered insights such as: be sincere, smile, make eye contact and ignite their imagination. While this is excellent advice for first impressions or job interviews, my definition of friendship-- especially Rotarian friendships-- goes much deeper. I want to know who enjoys music by Katy Perry and ZZ Top, who traveled to Alaska and who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and, of course, whose football team won the SEC. Club members achieve lasting friendships by parking cars, attending basketball socials, working a spaghetti eating contest and dancing to the Screaming Orphans. (Who knew that Jake and Mike were part Irish?) However, the number one way to create lasting friendships in Rotary

begins by attending the weekly meetings. Congratulations to members with high attendance! GOD BLESS AMERICA God bless America,

Land that I love,

Stand beside her and guide her

Through the night with a light from above;

From the mountains, to the prairies,

To the oceans white with foam,

God bless America,

My home sweet home.

God bless America,

My home sweet home.
