3. The Executive Engineer, Govt. Au mobile Workshop, puducherry shall obtain amonthly report from each and every ovt. approved private automobile workshopshowing the number of Govt. Departm ntal vehicles attended to by that workshopduring the month and the nature of repai works done with cost so as to ensure whetherany job is repeatedly carried out.

Adverting to the above, the following private Automobile Workshopsfunctioning in Puducherry risted in the annexure to this circurar are approved to carryoutMajor/lr4inor and orher repairs to Govt. vehicres for a period of two years from 01.02.2019to 31 01.202.1 vide order cited. The categorization of the works and the workshopsapproved in each category of works are detailed below:

CIRCULAR

A. CATEGORISATION OF WORKS

To carry out the repair work of Govt. Vehicles by private workshops, the repairworks are categorized mainly as major repairs and minor repairs. The works thatconstitute major and minor repairs are detailed below.

I. II1AJOR REPAIRS

The vehicles to be repaired with list of repalrs proposed to be carried outis to be brought to the technical official of Tiansport Departmentspecified for the purpose to obtain the " No-objection certificate" (NOC)to carry out the repair works.

The Department may invite quotations from the approved workshops aslisted above in accordance to General Financial Rules 20'17.

The quotations obtained may be forwarded to Transport Depariment alongwith Original quotations/comparative statemerrls etc., for obtaining RateReasonableness certificate.

iv) After obtaining the Rate Reasonableness Ce(ificate, theDepartmenUOffice may obtain a Govt. Sanction as per Rule and on receiptof Government sanction, work order may be placed to the concernedWorkshop.

On completion of the repair works by the workshop, the vehicle may beproduced to technical officiais of the Transport Department to exam thecondition of work and to issue work satisfaction certificate for its roadworthlness.

The Directorate of Accounts and treasuries, Puducherry will admit andpass bills based on the work satisfaction certificate

y' fhe Departmentat vehicles will be inspected by specified RTOs as listed inthe Annexure-ll enclosed and required NOC will be issued The Govt.Departments/offices shall obtain quotations from such authorized workshops and sendthe quotation and comparative statement to the respective Transport office within 60days from the date of receipt of quotation for issue of Rate Reasonable certificate. Aftercarrying out the repairs the vehicle shall be produced for inspection within one week tocertify satisfactory completion of the work.

Apart from the above Private Workshops included in the Annexure to thisorder, Authorized Dealers/service centers of Automobile manufacturers of a particularmake could be approached for repairing aI types of Govt. Vehicres as and whenrequired on single quotation basis as per Rule .1 66 of GFR 20i 7.
