Who/What is Society: Webster’s College Dictionary says: An organized group of persons associated
together who share: activities customsclass culture
beliefBelief: an opinion, conviction, confidence in an
idea
So does that include…Me/You? So we could define society as: a group of people (Americans) who hold
similar (same or really close) beliefs (opinions) on some topics (democracy, religion, standards of dress).
Or we could say: a group of people (Mrs. Barber’s Class) who
hold similar (same or really close) beliefs (opinions) on some topics (longer lunches & time between classes).
Then WE are society.
So….? How does society form commonly held beliefs?
Even where we live
