Every effort is made to make this very affordable. All pilgrims search out their own cheap- est flights. This allows pilgrims to save as much as possible on the overall cost of the pilgrimage. Hotels are recommended but you are free to research your own. On the next page are hotels which we have used in the past and all are in walking distance to the shrine. For the meals, there are several restau- rants which pilgrims are free to explore. Meals are not together as one group but you are encouraged to socialize with other pilgrims during the meals. You are also welcomed to invite a priest(s) with you for a meal. This free schedule for the dining is one of the best aspects of the pilgrimage to meet new people and enjoy the city. There is a $50 Non-Refundable Registra- tion Fee. Many priests have attended this pilgrimage in the past. This amount will serve to help priests attend this pilgrimage. Many are edified to see so many priests in cassock, not only our own pilgrims, but also the local residents and religious com- munities. This powerful example shows that Tradition is alive and well! AccommodationsHotels that our pilgrims have used in the past

are: Hotel San Francisco de Quito, Hotel San Agustin, Hotel Catedral, and Hotel Vienna. These accommodations are not luxurious hotels but have always been used because they are in the Historic Center. These hotels are within walking distance to the Shrine. We have secured discount-ed rates for these hotels. If you wish to make res-ervations elsewhere, of course you are welcome to do so.

N.B. The days leading up to February 2 are very busy in Quito. There are many others besides ourselves who come to Quito for the Feast of Purification. Rooms can disappear fast!

Hotel Catedral This hotel has no deposit and the rate is per

person. 7 doubles, 2 matrimonial, 1 quadru-ple and 4 triples available. This hotel offers breakfast.

– $26.50 (including VAT) per person – 10 nights = $265.00

Hotel Vienna This hotel has no deposit. This hotel offers no

breakfast. – Rate is $20 (plus VAT) per person – 10 nights = $200.00 (plus VAT)

Travel Details – Transportation to and from the airport is arranged. The fee for this travel is $10 if there are many; the fee is $25 if you are less than three. This fee is collected on the bus or the vehicle that picks you up. – Many pilgrims arrive at the same time and we do wait until the bus is full. Do not worry of not knowing where to go. There will be a person there holding a pilgrimage sign or your name on a card. – We can arrange your hotel reservation (if you so wish) upon reception of deposit amount – There is a daily outing to various sites/mu-seums in the city center. These are mostly in walking distance. Taxis to these sites would be no more than $3 if you not fit to walk so much. For the museums, the entrance fee is not more than $5. Museum entrance fees will not total more than $35 for the entire pilgrimage. – On one of the days, we make a trip to the coun-tryside. This is somewhat of a shopping trip to the artisan markets. The bus transportation fee for the day is less than $10. – On February 2, we have large group dinner. The menu will be distributed in which you can choose your entrée. The dinner is approx-imately $35 and this will be collected on the days leading up to the feast. This dinner is the only meal with all the pilgrims together.
