Introduction  

Becoming a successful employee isn’t always the easiest thing to do. There can be lots of situations that happen that might become a little overwhelming. But if can handle these situations well, then everyone you work with will remember and like appreciate you. This manual will teach you all of the things needed to become a successful employee at QuikTrip. It will include instructions on clocking in and out, operating the cash register, DAW tasks, staying on-store, max out. There are many advanced tasks and situations that you will learn with on job experience. But this manual will focus on properly training you in the basic duties of a QuikTrip store employee.

Clocking  in  QuikTrip  Stores  

Clocking in is the most important step to start your day. This is how QuikTrip will know how long an employee worked for the day. This will always be the first thing you will do when you arrive at work. Employees are NOT permitted to work inside QuikTrip stores without clocking in first.

Follow these steps to clock in:

1. Walk to the computer behind the check stand and click on the clock-in tab 2. Place your thumb on the finger print scanner. 3. After reading your thumb click “clock in” 4. Exit the screen

Operating  the  Cash  Register  

The cash register is the tool employees will be using to make transactions with customers. When operating the cash register remember to always smile and be courteous to QuikTrip customers. Here is a layout to the home screen employees will use:

When operating the cash register employees need to follow these steps:

1. Employees must greet the customer. Ex: Hello welcome to QuikTrip

2. Make Eye Contact 3. Count Back Change Correctly 4. Say Exit Greeting and invite them back to the store.

Ex: “Thank you Come Again”

DAW  (Daily  Assignment  Work)  Tasks  –  Inside  

While you are working there will be daily inside tasks you will have to perform as an employee. It is your duty to make sure all task are completed before your shift ends. You will collaborate with you coworkers. After completing your tasks employees sign initials next to the task that they have completed.

DAW  (Daily  Assignment  Work)  Tasks  –Outside  

At QuikTrip there will be daily outside tasks you will have to perform as an employee. It is your duty to make sure all task are completed before your shift ends. When performing outside DAW tasks employees must wear a orange safety vest. Also employees must tell a manager when you are going out side and which tasks you will be doing. . After completing your tasks employees sign initials next to the task that they have completed.

Staying  On  the  Store  

When employees are not working on DAW tasks then they will be “Staying on Store”. This is when employees are to walk around the stores do the following:

• Check Grill food items • Sweep and mop floors • Wipe down all counters • Replace cup outs • Replace lip outs • Face Entire store

Employees repeat this process till a coworker relives them off the store.

Max  Out  

At the end of every shift employees QuikTrip employees are required to “Max Out” the following:

• Hotdog buns • QuikTrip Cups • QuikTrip Lids • All Condiments on bar

This will make sure the next shift will be ready to start smoothly and will occur minimum problems.

Conclusion  

This Employee manual will make help employees learn the way around QuikTrip. You may keep this with you while you are working and take it home to study. Quality training is a large part of what makes QuikTrip different. It’s also the reason our team members are successful in providing a fast, friendly experience for customers, reaching their personal potential, and advancing their own careers.
