It provides an overview of the installation and use of the Extranet.


1 Introduction In the interest of everyone, the personal certificates issued by MAN Truck & Bus AG should restrict access to the MAN information system to authorised individuals. A certificate is necessary to use the MAN Truck & Bus Extranet. To have a certificate issued, you must agree to the conditions of use and the security guidelines. You can view and download these from: https://www.vp-man.biz/images/pdf/VTPA-CA_Policy_Ver1.01_en.pdf The most important security information is summarised in section 2. This quickstart guide shows you the steps required to install the necessary components and to use the Extranet.


2 Security information You are granted access to MAN Truck & Bus AG information systems when you install a software certificate. We have to protect the systems against unauthorised access because they contain sensitive information. Your signature upon receipt of the PIN letter also indicates that you agree to the security guidelines. They are summarised again here: The certificate is issued to a specific person and may only be used by the

certificate holder. The PIN and the certificate that can be opened with this password must be

handled carefully and confidentially. The PIN must be protected against unauthorised access and may not be kept together with your computer.

The certificate may not be stored in unencrypted format or installed in a browser.

The browser must always be closed when you are finished using the MAN information system.

The computer that the certificate is installed on has to be password-protected. If you know or suspect that unauthorised individuals had access to your PIN,

the certificate or your computer, contact your on-site representative or the RA operator responsible at MAN Truck & Bus AG immediately.

A violation of this obligation to exercise care can result in revocation of access to the MAN information system and liability due to misuse.

I am aware of the policy of the VTPA-CA, I have received it and agree to its contents.


3 Installation

3.1 Overview There are two steps to installation: Downloading and installing the certificate Downloading and installing the Citrix client

3.2 Downloading and installing the certificate

3.2.1 PIN letter

To download and install the certificate, you need your PIN letter that was provided to you by your national Extranet representative. Please make sure that the PIN letter was not damaged when given to you.


The PIN letter contains 1 "User ID" 2 "PIN" for the download 3 "Password" to decrypt the certificate The "User ID" and "PIN" are necessary for downloading (see section 3.2.2); the password is necessary for installation (see section 3.2.2).

3.2.2 Downloading

Please use the following URL to download the certificate in your Internet browser1: https://cert.vp-man.biz/

The following page opens. Please enter the "User ID" and the "PIN" here:

After you have successfully registered, you are referred to the MAN certificate page. Please click "Download" to download your personal certificate.

Please save the certificate to any directory on your computer.


3.2.3 Installing the certificate

Installation of the certificate can be started by double-clicking the downloaded certificate file; or by clicking "Internet Options".


Click the "Certificates" button on the "Content" tab.

An overview of certificates that are already installed is displayed.

Please click the "Import" button, the installation wizard now opens. Follow the wizard as shown in the illustrations below. You can find the necessary entries under the illustration.


Click "Next".

Select the previously downloaded and saved certificate file here. Then click "Next".


To decrypt the certificate, enter your password (see on the PIN letter) and select the "High Security Level".

Click "Next".

Click "Finish".

Click "Security Level".


Select the "High" box and click "Next".

You are now prompted to select a password. In the future, you will have to enter this password to confirm the certificate every time you launch the MAN information systems. Enter this password, reconfirm it and then click "Finish".


Click "OK".

Installation is now complete.

3.3 Installing the root certificate Follow the steps described above but this time download and install the master certificate from https://www.vp-man.biz. To ensure the authenticity of the certificate, compare the fingerprint.

The certificates are not stored in the right certificate repository in Microsoft Vista Please select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" during the installation process.


3.4 Citrix client installation The Citrix client can be downloaded from the Extranet homepage: https://www.vp-man.biz/ Please note that this URL can only be accessed if a certificate is installed.

The Citrix Web Client and the Citrix Presentation Server Client are available for download from this page.

We recommend installing the "Citrix Web Client". This is a plug-in for your Internet browser that does not require any other installation or configuration.

Please observe that you may have to install and configure the full version of the Citrix client depending on your local network, e.g. to take local proxy servers into account. In this case, please contact your IT administrator.


4 Using the MAN Extranet After installation, go to

https://www.vp-man.biz to start the MAN Extranet with your Internet browser.

Once you click the button, you are taken to the web interface.

Please select the desired country (language) here. The corresponding language version subsequently opens:

Please select "VP Intranet English". The Citrix client now starts and a connection is established.


Then the MAN Extranet homepage appears.

You can launch all available applications from this page.

Please observe that you need a user ID and password for some applications. If you don't have them, please contact your national representative.


5 Looking up the user ID If you want to know which certificates you installed, you can view them in the certificate repository in your Internet browser. Please follow the steps described below:
