Steps to import Journal Entries, Lists, COA to QB from Excel or comma separated text file (CSV)1. Open QB’s company file2. Open Transactions Pro Importer (TPI)3. Select File Source 4. Select Import type = Account List or Journal Entries or Any Other

Type5. Map data from excel file to QB fields6. Mapped data will be shown along with an error code if data needs

correction 7. Review the ready to be imported screen8. Click Finish to import data into QBs9. Close the window when the task is completed10. Verify imported data

Steps to import lists: Back up your QBs company file! File->Utilities->Import->Excel Files 1. Set up the import by specifying the import file and how the contents

of the file will be mapped to your QuickBooks data2. Click the Preferences tab and specify how QuickBooks will handle

errors and duplicate entries3. Preview the data and make any necessary corrections & Click Import 4. Use the error log to correct any errors Or* Lists->Add/Edit Multiple List Entries 1. Compare the columns in the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries window to

the columns in your spreadsheet and copy/paste data2. You can Add/Remove columns though customize column button

* Accountant Version and Enterprise you can import Checks, Deposits, and Credit Card Charges/Credits, Invoices, Customer Memos, Bills, and Vendor Memos1. Select Accountant in the menu bar, then Batch Enter

Charges/Credits, Invoices/Credit Memos) from pre-set-up excel worksheet to copy/paste into “Batch Enter Transactions” module

3. Paste information into this form from Excel4. If there is an error, or a field left blank that QuickBooks fills

in for you, it will be highlighted in red.5. When you are done entering data, click the Save

* Bank Feed through Direct Connect or Web Connect1. Setting Up a Connection To The Bank2. Banks via Bank feed feature can allow 2 different ways to connect:

a. Direct Connect featureb. Express Web Connect feature –import transactions downloaded qbo file

3. Can create a rule to assign GL code to the expense or deposit (Auto coding)

4. Has a built-in Smart Coding function when system recognizes transaction5. Add or verify the account from your chart of accounts for each transaction6. You can also add/approve or ignore transactions in a batch7. Change the Status Options to see which transactions were automatically

matched8. Once you are finished, you can close the Bank Feeds window
