1 Introduction
The Diversity Optimizer 10.6 Installation Manual describes how to install and to use Diversity Optimizer.
Overview
The Diversity Optimizer software controls and operates measurement devices from a standalone computer. You can connect a device to a USB port or a data card slot on the computer.
Figure 1-1 Diversity Optimizer system
Note: For information on Diversity measurement devices, see the Diversity Hardware User Manual.
Diversity Optimizer automatically installs the following software on your computer:
TestManager: Creates and manages tests for voice, data, and video quality measurements. Test Manger runs as a Windows service that you can access through a web browser on the same machine at: http://localhost:8080. TestManager requires a Microsoft SQL database to store information about the test units, test plans, and test results. For more information, see Manual - NetQual - TestManager.pdf.
NQComm: Provides communication between TestManager, PCMs, measurement devices, and SQL databases. For more information, see Manual – NetQual - NQComm.pdf.
NQView: Displays real-time measurement values from the measurement devices on the controlling PC. NQView can also replay a measurement in real-time from the measurement files. For more information, see Manual – NetQual - NQView.pdf.
References: Contains file samples for measurement tests
Diversity PCM: Enables a PCM to operate the measurement devices. A Diversity PCM installation contains Maintenance Center which you can use to access Measurement Control, Measurement Engine, and Device Manager.
QuickTime: Provides QuickTime support
RealPlayer: Provides RealPlayer support
Installers for third-party Windows drivers: Contains the drivers that you need to use your

NQView Walk Mode
By default a GPS receiver provides the map coordinates during a measurement. However, if you want to manually input these coordinates, for example, when you are indoors, you can change the Path Mode of NQView to Walk.
In this mode, NQView saves the Walk points that you manually add to the map as latitude and longitude coordinates in the measurement file.
To use the Walk mode
1. Open your map monitor.
On the Navigation panel in NQView, click Monitors, and then click your map.
2. On the Path Mode menu, click Walk.
3. Add a map coordinate.
During a measurement, click Walk point on the Tools menu, and then click the map where you want to add the point.
4. At the end of the measurement, click Drive on the Path Mode menu.
