Multi-Family Estimates

When starting a Multi-Family estimate you must first select “Multi-Family Residence” in the “Structure Type” drop down menu in the Property Characteristics Section

Once you have made sure all of the Property Characteristics fields are correct you can hit to go your “Add Areas” Screen to entering the multiple units to estimate.

Screen 1 – Property Characteristics

Adding Area’s

Adding areas for a multi-family unit are the same as any other estimate; you will just be adding additional areas and utilizing the Label field to indicate the “Unit Number”

Important Note! Multi-Family estimates should have:

(1) “Exterior” Area (1) ”Entire House” Area for each Unit on the subject property Labeled with a Unit

Number (See Sample Estimate on Page 6)

Start by Adding your first area.

Adding Exterior

Once you have selected you can now select your first area from the drop down menu to add to your estimate.

Important Note! For Multi-Family units we recommend that you start with an “Exterior” area first, and then moving on to adding the additional “Entire House” areas as your individual units

For the “Exterior” area you will want to click once you have the “Exterior” area selected, then proceed to

Adding Individual Units

To add additional areas or the individual “Units” you must again hit to bring up the “Add Area’s screen.

Select the “Entire House” area from the drop down window first. Utilizing the Label field, you can now enter the unit number as shown below. Do

not use symbols (#,&,.. etc.) in this field, the program will not recognize them. Once complete, then repeat steps for each additional Unit.

Note! Do not calculate the individual areas based on BB Estimated Measurements. You must provide the specific calculations for the individual items for each area. The rest of the process will be the same as a Single Family estimate.

This screen shows how a multi-Family estimate should look when competed correctly, notice how it shows the “Exterior” as the first area, and more importantly, the two additional areas pertaining to each individual unit and an individual estimate for each.
