The Tippecanoe Educational Endowment proudly sponsors the annual
Teacher of the Year award This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the
exceptional contributions made by a current certified classroom teacher
from Tipp City Schools Parents students community members and
colleagues are encouraged to nominate a teacher who provides exemplary
service and dedication to our students and community serves as a role
model and demonstrates accomplishments that distinguish him or her among

award the 2015 Teacher of the Year at the year-end staff recognition event on May 29 2015
THS Student Makes Another Musical Debut Congratulations to Tippecanoe High School junior Luke Becker on
being selected to perform with the Bands of America National Honor
Band in Indianapolis Luke was required to perform an extensive
video audition to be considered for the group Luke was one of only
five Ohio students in the ensemble that included musicians from
throughout the United States The ensemble world-premiered a piece
of music by world-renowned composer John Mackey Mackey was
present at the ensemble rehearsals and helped explain the music and
composition to the students as they learned the piece It was an
educational and amazing experience for those involved Luke adds
this accomplishment to his already impressive resume being a 2-
time Ohio All-State Band member and multiple year member of the
Springfield Youth Symphony He also performed with the Tri-state
Honor Band OMEA District Honor Band and Bowling Green

Speech Winners The winners of the Tippecanoe High
Schoolrsquos annual Tipp City Rotary
Club Four-Way Speech Contest gave
their speeches to the Rotarians at a
recent meeting Students wrote
memorized and delivered a four to six
minute speech on the topic of their
choice applying the Rotary Four-Way
Test to their topics Is it the truth Is it
fair to all concerned Will it build
goodwill and better friendships Is it
beneficial to all concerned The THS

CHESS TEAM The Tippecanoe High chess team completed a
very successful season with a 4-2 victory over
Vandalia in the Battle of the Boards Challenge
Overall the chess team finished second in the
Dayton area this season (behind Beavercreek
which finished 2 in the state) and improved
tremendously as the season progressed The team
was led by seniors Zach Salyer Jacob Miller and

Congratulations Academic Quiz Team The Academic Quiz competed this past Saturday at the University of Findlay Invitational Kase Vyas Laurel Spangler Alisha Bhagwat and Thomas Chaney tied for 3rd out of 18 teams with a 6-2 record Also competing for Tipp were Alex Prentice Sam Armentrout Bethany Agins Taylor Priddy Faith Walker Nathan Mahaney and Michael Gross The team will be in action in April at NAQT state championships in Columbus Congratulations on the strong finish
Congratulations Congratulations to Victoria Livesay for having her drawing accepted in the 2015 Ohio Governors Youth Art Exhibition Her drawing was one of the top 300 works chosen for this showing it was selected from more than 12000 pieces entered in the fifteen regions around the state Victoria will receive her special certificate of recognition at noon April 12 2015 during the awards ceremony in Columbus at The Columbus Athenaeum in Columbus Ohio The drawing will be on display at the James A Rhodes State Office Tower

from the nine regions of the state that represent the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) Both
exhibitions represent students in kindergarten through eighth grade
Tipp City Exempted Village Schools had 8 Destination Imagination teams compete In Jackson Center this weekend and Tipp had an outstanding performance Congratulations to the following Tipp teams who placed first at the regional Destination Imagination competition and will be moving onto the state competition at Mt Vernon High school on April 11th Middle level (grades 6-8) Structural Challenge Team Manager Steve Staub Team members Brandon Hood Addison Huber Benjamin Huber Madaline Staub Dylan Johnson Ava Newborn

THS THEATRE PRODUCTION Close to one hundred students are preparing for The THS theatre programrsquos latest production Little Shop of Horrors Mark your calendars You wonrsquot want to miss this fantastic horror comedy musical Performances will be held on Thursday April 16 Friday April 17 and Saturday April 18 at 730 pm a matinee will be performed on Sunday April 19 at 230 pm in the Tippecanoe Center for Performing Arts Senior citizens are invited to the Thursday show on April 16 for free All seating is reserved The show content is suitable for children over the age of 10 Be sure to join in the fun and buy tickets either at the door prior to the performance or order online in advance at wwwtippdramacom Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students in grades 12 or below

for Heart All proceeds go to the American
Heart Association To culminate the event
and the jump rope physical education unit

healthy and philanthropic event
Broadway Breakfast Buffet Thank you to Parents Involved in Education (PIE) and the parents who treated Broadway Elementary staff to an amazing breakfast smorgasbord The spread was plentiful delicious and most appreciated

During the week of March 30th ndash April 3rd Tipp City Schools will be open during the days and hours noted below
The Board of Education and Tippecanoe High School Monday-330 thru Wednesday-41 800 am ndash 200 pm Thursday April 2nd amp Good Friday April 3rd Closed to the public
All other buildings are closed for Spring Break Have a wonderful week off and we will see you on April 6th
StageCrafters Summer Theatre Camp
StageCrafters is preparing for its tenth annual summer day camp The camp is for students currently in grades 2-8 with an interest in theatre Over the course of the two weeks students work on creating a musical production Legally Blond JR to be performed for a public audience play a variety of theatre and improvisation games and learn about some of the aspects of technical theatre that make everything possible The camp has been a huge success but has a maximum capacity of 80 students in order to provide all participating with the best possible experience For more

Foreign Language Enrichment Program
Tipp City Schools is offering an after-school foreign language enrichment program
What Spanish and French Language and Culture classes Why The purpose of this program is to introduce and extend studentsrsquo knowledge of a foreign culture and language and to stimulate interest in further study of language When Wednesdays April 8th to May 6th
Time 330-430pm Where Broadway Elementary (first floor classrooms) Who Students in grades 2 and 3 instructed by high school students Fee $5 per student (Please make checks out to Tipp City Schools)
Enrollment is limited Registration is on a first come first served basis Forms are available at Broadway Elementary School Please return a completed form and payment of $5 for each child to be enrolled to the Broadway Elementary School office no later than Tuesday March 24th
Food Drive The Student Council at Tippecanoe Middle School has a can-do attitude The students
organized the annual non-perishable food drive that runs through March 26 The
ambitious school leaders hope to collect 14-hundred items for Needy Basket the local
food pantry
Devilaires Success
The Devilaires competed this past weekend at the Showcase America State Competition in Oak Hills
OH The ladies did a great job again receiving High Superior rankings in Jazz POM and Officer
routines The next competition is their national competition being held April 11th and 12

Devilaires CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to Tippecanoe High School girls basketball players Halee Printz and Carly Clodfelter who were recognized as being All-Ohio selections Halee was named to 1st team All-Ohio and Carly to Special Mention All-Ohio
TRACK AND FIELD Tippecanoe High school Track and Field teams begin their 2015 season over the upcoming Spring break If you are in town support the student athletes on Saturday March 28 and Saturday April 4 If you want to be a part of these events there is room in the concession stand to work for an hour or two If you are interested in that capacity contact Linda Ares Concession Stand Coordinator at larestippcityk12ohus
Visit Tipp City Library During Spring Break The Tipp City Public Library will be offering several special events for youth of all ages during spring break week On Monday March 30 at 230 pm a movie matinee will feature Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day There is no admission fee and free popcorn will be served All ages welcome Pete the Cat will visit the library on Wednesday April 1 from 400-500 pm Meet Pete and get your picture taken with him Then try some games and crafts related to the Pete-the-Cat books Throughout the week there will be activity sheets and simple spring crafts set-up in the Childrens Room for families to try at their leisure If you have any questions about these events call the library at 667-3826 ext 215

StageCrafters is preparing for its tenth annual summer day camp The camp is for students currently in grades 2-8 with an interest in theatre Over the course of the two weeks students work on creating a musical production Legally Blond JR to be performed for a public audience play a variety of theatre and improvisation games and learn about some of the aspects of technical theatre that make everything possible The camp has been a huge success but has a maximum capacity of 80 students in order to provide all participating with the best possible experience For more

StageCrafters is preparing for its tenth annual summer day camp The camp is for students currently in grades 2-8 with an interest in theatre Over the course of the two weeks students work on creating a musical production Legally Blond JR to be performed for a public audience play a variety of theatre and improvisation games and learn about some of the aspects of technical theatre that make everything possible The camp has been a huge success but has a maximum capacity of 80 students in order to provide all participating with the best possible experience For more

Tipp City Schools is offering an after-school foreign language enrichment program
What Spanish and French Language and Culture classes Why The purpose of this program is to introduce and extend studentsrsquo knowledge of a foreign culture and language and to stimulate interest in further study of language When Wednesdays April 8th to May 6th
Time 330-430pm Where Broadway Elementary (first floor classrooms) Who Students in grades 2 and 3 instructed by high school students Fee $5 per student (Please make checks out to Tipp City Schools)
Enrollment is limited Registration is on a first come first served basis Forms are available at Broadway Elementary School Please return a completed form and payment of $5 for each child to be enrolled to the Broadway Elementary School office no later than Tuesday March 24th
Food Drive The Student Council at Tippecanoe Middle School has a can-do attitude The students
organized the annual non-perishable food drive that runs through March 26 The
ambitious school leaders hope to collect 14-hundred items for Needy Basket the local
food pantry

routines The next competition is their national competition being held April 11th and 12

Visit Tipp City Library During Spring Break The Tipp City Public Library will be offering several special events for youth of all ages during spring break week On Monday March 30 at 230 pm a movie matinee will feature Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day There is no admission fee and free popcorn will be served All ages welcome Pete the Cat will visit the library on Wednesday April 1 from 400-500 pm Meet Pete and get your picture taken with him Then try some games and crafts related to the Pete-the-Cat books Throughout the week there will be activity sheets and simple spring crafts set-up in the Childrens Room for families to try at their leisure If you have any questions about these events call the library at 667-3826 ext 215
