What’s cooking?

Remember to upload all your pictures and new recipes you find on to seesaw.

Easy Chicken biryani - serves 42 tbsp sunflower oil 1 large onion, chopped

4 chicken breasts 1 lemon, juice only

2 tsp garam masala 1 tsp chilli powder

2g (1 tsp) salt 300g (10oz) basmati rice

1 garlic clove, crushed 2.5cm piece fresh ginger, grated

4. Add the rice and hot stock to the pan, stir well then bring to the boil. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce the heat slightly and cook for 5 minutes. Activity 2

Here's an idea for a simple decoration for your family dance party.

Simple paper rosettes You will need: coloured paper, scissors, glue and string Instructions: 1. fold your piece of paper like a fan in small folds, forwards and back 2 do this with 2 pieces of paper and glue along the edges to stick the 2 together 3. Make 2 small holes at the top of your rosette and pull the string through to allow you to hang your rosette.

Float or sink?

What does it mean?Floating is when the object sits

on top of the water.Sinking is when the object is under

the water.

“This week we are going to make predictions on what we think will happen to the objects”

For this you will need a clear, deep box filledwith water and lots of objects you would

like to experiment with. These could include: a coin, key, comb, spoon, empty bottle, full bottle, apple,

orange, teddy, feather, a straw - whatever you would like to use.

Start by making a prediction list with 3 columns. List each object and whether you think it will sink or float. Then drop it into the water. Were you

right? Record the answer in the last column.

How many predictions did you get right?Do the objects have anything in common?

Can you describe the objects? Were they heavy or light?

Family Support

I don’t know about you but I feel the weeks are coming around so quickly, here we are again for more TA support sheets!I hope some of you found the sheet from last week helpful and was able to use some of the strategies. This week I thought we could look at writing letters or creating a scrapbook or both!

Writing A Letter

It’s not every often we write letters to people any more. We normally email, text, telephone call or use some form of social media to contact someone.

It would be nice to write a letter to a family member or a friend. Tell them about things you have been doing, how you are feeling? What you are looking forward to…Ask them how they are and what they have been doing. It would be so nice for that person, who you have written the letter to, to receive it. They may even write a letter back to you!

Create A Scrapbook

What are you going to title your scrapbook? My memories or Our Family Memories or something completely different. All you need is cardboard or paper. Glue, sellotape and some photographs or draw your own pictures. Add captions or phrases to each picture/photo. You can be as creative as you like, let your imagination run wild!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Emr3OaxYXzo For scrapbook ideas.

It is important to think about the small things in life and to be grateful for everything thatwe have. A Gratitude Treeis a fun way tocount our blessings.Collect up some twigs and stones whilst you are out on a walk. Put the stones in the bottom of a jar to keep your ‘tree’ steady.Arrange the twigs in the jar to resemble a tree.Use card/paper to cut into leaf shapes and write/draw things you are thankful for on them.Attach the leaves to your tree using string or ribbon.

Gratitude Scavenger Hunt.1. Find something that

makes you happy.2. Find something to give to

someone else to make them smile.

3. Find something you love to smell.

4. Find something that is your favourite colour.

5. Find one thing you enjoy looking at.

6. Find something you are thankful for in nature.

7. Find something you can use to make a gift for someone.

8. Find something which is useful for you.

RE & Reflection “Where there is light there is hope!”

Two activities for you all to try this week. (You will need a torch for both activities)

Build yourself a den in the house or garden and make hand shadows on the cloth of your den. See if others can guess what you are displaying.

Hide and seek with a twist. Take it in turns to hide and count. The seeker is looking for a light. So, the person hiding should have a torch and occasionally turn it on and off to show glimpses of light to the seeker.

Jesus says in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

This weeks Big Question:

Think, Talk and DiscussThink of all the fun things you have ever done. When have you smiled the most? When did you laugh so much it hurt? Where were you? What were you doing? Who were you with? Talk to other people in your family about the best day they have ever had? Have fun listening to their answers.

Activity 1 (EY and above)● Draw or paint a picture of

yourself doing something fun on your perfect day.

Activity 2 (KS1 and above) ● Create a puppet of yourself and put on a

puppet show that shows you enjoying your perfect day. (if you have a spare photo of yourself, you could cut yourself out and stick on a lolly stick as a quick and easy puppet)

Activity 3 (LKS2 and above)● Imagine you have just had your

perfect day. Write a diary entry that describes all the detail of the day. Remember to use your senses to help you describe the settings.

Activity 4 (UKS2)● Be creative and write a recipe for your

perfect day. Take your time over the list of ingredients and try to give the amount for each. For example:❏ Gallons of side splitting laughter ❏ A pinch of running around (not

too much or you'll get tired out).

Why not use technology to contact a friend or relative you haven't spoken to in a while. Have fun telling them all about your perfect day and you could ask them to describe theirs: )

What

would you

eat ?

What time would you get up ?

Would you meet

anyone famous ?

What would

you do ?

Who would you be with ?

Where

would you

go ?
