Dear Friends, Welcome to Bible Center! Thanks for being with us today. What are your daily routines? Of course... making coffee is first. After that, maybe you also check Instagram, catch up on your NCAA basketball scores, take your medicine, make your bed, clean up the kitchen, or read the news. Jerry Bridges suggests one more: “Preach the gospel to yourself daily.” Why would we need to remind ourselves of the gospel daily? “Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men,” George Orwell noted, “is the restatement of the obvious.” Mahaney writes, “If there’s anything in life we should be passionate about, it’s the gospel. And I don’t mean passionate only about sharing it with others; I mean passionate in thinking about the gospel, reflecting upon it, rejoicing in it, allowing it to color the way we look at the world and all of life.” This month’s HopeFull series centers around Jesus’ good news. The Apostle Paul
reminded the early church Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, He was buried, and He was raised on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Picking up a copy of Pastor Bill Tanzey’s book, When God Sings, is a great way to remind yourself of the gospel. From Zepha-niah 3:17, he points out that God sings over His children. Copies are available for purchase out in the Gathering Space. Let me invite you to visit the table and knock out your Christmas shopping early this year! For the city,
Matt FriendSenior Pastor

MARCH 19, 2017
From time to time, many families experience need. To help meet these needs, we are asking everyone in our church to eat dif-ferently and less expensively during the week of March 26. You can do this in various ways (e.g., only eat beans and rice, pack your lunch when you go to work, only eat at home, etc.). On Sunday, April 2nd, we ask that everyone bring their gift that equals the amount that was saved by having changed their eating habits. The benevolence ministry will then use these resources to help those in our church family who are hurting.

Tucked away in the Book of Zephaniah, the powerful, yet least read book of the Bible, is a precious and unlikely promise for all the ages: The great God of the universe actually sings over His children! It seems incom-prehensible. Yet, this is a divine promise to embrace during chal-lenging times in life. In about 628 BC, this promise was made to an unworthy group of
people in Judah, and resonates with truth to God followers today. The closer you get to this promise in Zephaniah 3:17, the more you will be impacted by its awesome truths and the glimpse of the grace of Jesus Christ that it offers.
“Every believer needs to know the reality and implications of this divine singing over the children of God,” says Pastor Tanzey.
When God Sings:The Breathtaking Truth of God Singing Over His Own
by: Dr. Bill Tanzey
A Bible teacher, speaker and Licensed Professional Counselor, Pastor Bill Tanzey frequently turns to Zeph. 3:17 and the facts related to it for help in Christian counseling and pastoral ministry. He has seen Zeph. 3:17 relieve pain in hurting people, lift the spirits of those who are down, and return meaning to life for people who society has marginalized.
