What have you learnt from your

audience feedback?

Page 2: Question3

We had regular feedback sessions with our target audience. Before we made the video, we asked them a variety of questions in which we found that the majority would prefer a music video with some special effects and they would prefer a music video that was more serious as it is more meaningful. I also found out that our target audience preferred it if the band all got equal camera time. This is unusual as normally the lead singer tends to get more attention from the camera. Also, our target audience preferred a video which consisted of both narrative and performance shots.

• We also interviewed our target audience during the production of our filming and we asked them questions after a few drafts of the making. And we regularly asked them for their opinion on the things they like and dislike about it.

• i interviewed our target audience during the making of the music video. So far, after viewing the video, what are your thoughts?

• PERSON 1• I really liked the fact you used a variety of shots, and the story line is gripping yet, keeps

with the conventions with a rock video, however, i would suggest that you should have more performance shots of the band in different places..maybe green screen?

• PERSON 2• I really liked the way you did the effects in the double role. Though i think you need to

make the video more fast flowing with faster editing shots as its a fast paced rock song. other than that i thought it was great!

• PERSON 3• The video overall is very creative. I love the use of shots and the story line is very

gripping. only thing i can say is that i think you should try and make it more emotional, by having a scene where the audience can actually be attached to the video. An example would be, that something dramatically horrible happens to the main actor, this would mean people would sympathize with him..and it would create emotion..

• After we got their opinions, we took it into consideration, and as one of the people said, we had both narrative and performance shots, and we also used the green screen. We also made sure we used faced paced editing so the shots go with the face paced beat of the song. We also create some dramatic scenes to make the video gripping.

After video feedback.• After taking the audiences views and opionions intp consideration, we created the video .

For feedback, we posted the video on to Facebook to see what our target audience thought of our production.here are some of the answers we received..

•"based on the original video, Impressed with few camera shots, editing is really good, simple on the story board, hard on the band...Actors did a good job, could have been better at some parts... Good color correction and story... Overall a impressive video.."

• ''Reallyy good music video.. like the editing, good use of green screenn.. storyline is understandable, couldd of done with probably a few more shots of the drummer as well as i think i only saw one or two shots of him.. veryy good use of effects at the right time, went well with the beat and situation of the music vid.. otherwise generallyy reallyy good vid, shudd be proud of urselffz''

• ''I do also like the music and the way it has been edited it must have taken a while to do.''
