Evaluation Question Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? Starting off the course with the preliminary task, I think was the most helpful way to understand how the camera is used in media. It gave me the chance to experiment with it by using different shots during that task and to start understanding the terminology more in the process. If I hadn’t carried out the task, it would have made me struggle through the beginning of creating the opening sequence, and the process would have been longer. What I have learnt from then to now is that I now know how to fully control the movement of the camera in the terms of tracking, panning, tilting, and being able to understand every setting on a Canon DSLR camera; being able to use it from a day-to-day basis helped with that. It’s also now much easier to edit then it was beforehand. I used to hesitate back when I was creating my preliminary task because I didn’t know whether what I was doing was right or not but now that I fully understand the tools, I can edit without hesitation which implies that my confidence has grown thoroughly from the preliminary task to producing the full product. Since that I now know more about the software of Final Cut Pro and the camera, it makes what I and my group do feel more professional. Time management is also another factor that I think I have improved on. Since Media is also coursework-based, it requires a lot of time for written work and filming. With experience of creating the full product, it would reduce the amount of time it takes to create something than it did with the preliminary task. It also helps getting more and more experience because it allowed me and my group to create more time for ourselves to fix up what we needed to when we had a finished product. It also gave us an opportunity to get more marks in areas we haven’t even considered beforehand. Most importantly, what I have learnt is to have better team work skills and to work as a team rather than doing things individually. It created relationships between all of us which helped the process of making the opening sequence much smoother but fun too. It gives you a chance to think differently than you would do if you were to work individually. Since there were four of us working towards the

Since there were four of us working towards the same goal, it made it easier to plan out what we wanted to do and how we would achieve it.
