Master Bikash Ray and Master Pritish Ranjan Panda of class IX rose to theoccasion and after stiff competition from the students of various schools in Indiaand Abroad secured 1st and 2nd position. They received a cash Prize of Rs12000/- , 10000-/ respectively at Mumbai.

Ayesha PattanaikA drawing competition on the topic “Water Pollution andIts Solution" was organised by State Pollution Board,Environmental Department, Angul on 1st June 17. Two ofour students of class X, Ayesha Pattanaik & Prerna Nandaparticipated in the competition and brought laurels tothe institution by securing 2nd & 3rd position respectively.

Earth Day on (22nd April) CLASSES – III, IV & V

DPS Nalconagar welcomed the parents of tiny tots of Nursery class by organizing an Orientation

Programme in the senior school auditorium which focused on rules and procedures of the school with an

appraisal of various activities. The guest of honor of the evening Shri A. Acharya , GM (Finance)

S&P,NALCO and Member (Finance) of our school Managing Committee lit the lamp and inaugurated the

programme.

DPS Nalconagar organized a

community awareness

programme –‘Earth Day’.

The little ambassadors who

are our future, and shall

further the legacy of Mother

Earth, observed Earth Day on

22.04.2017.

On the 21st of April 2017 a Healthy Drink day wasobserved by the budding stars of Prep class whoprepared lemonade – A healthy and nutritious drink, intheir respective class rooms. The message highlightedwas complete nutrition with proper intake of water.

Pink colour day was celebrated on14.07.17. All the children looked cuteand bubbly in pink colour dresses.They participated enthusiastically inall the activities related to theidentification of colours.

Around 200 students ofclass VIII & IX went forPrabhat Pheri aroundNalconagar on theoccasion of ChamparanMovement organised byNALCO at TrainingCentre on 15th June 2017.Their enthusiasticparticipation made theChamparan Movementcelebration meaningful.

To cultivate the spirit needed for a healthy body,mind and soul, more than 100 students of DPS Nalconagar (Sr. Wing) participated in The International YogaDay on 21st June 2017 at SVM School (Sr. Wing) convened by NALCO with lots of zest and enthusiasm. Thestudents of class IV & V participated in The Yoga Session at Junior DPS on the same day.

Abhinandan Sinha of VI was declaredRunners-Up (under 13) in DistrictLevel.

Nearly 150 students of class VI escorted by the class teachers and class Reps of class VI got the

opportunity to meet Olly The Mascot on 29th June at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex,Nalconagar in the august presence of Shri R. K. Mishra, ED (S&P) NALCO.

National Doctors’ Day

DPS a self made brand has been doing

innovations and achieving mile stones

each year. National Doctor’s Day was

observed in Jr. DPS on 1st July 2017with a sense of deep reverence for the

profession.

A Blood donation camp was organized on

2nd of July 2017 to commemorate

Doctors’ Day. Our delight was heightened by

the gracious presence of Mr.P.K. Mohanty,

GM (H&A), NALCO who extended his

valuable time to be amidst us.

The school aims at developing the teaching learning process at school by deputing teachers for various in-service training imparted by DPS HRD Centre Dwarka from time to time.Shri K. S. Mishra (TGT) Hindi hadattended the Hindi Language workshop “Utkarsh” held at Delhi.

Interactive Sessions for parents of classes I and II

were conducted on 6th of July 2017 and for Parents

of classes Nursery & Prep on 15th July 2017respectively. The key points discussed were – Roleof Parents, Importance of value Educationconcerning family, society and environment.

Special Assembly on 17th April & 10th July 2017We sadly mourn the sudden demise of our beloved colleague Mrs. Sujata Barpanda on 15th April2017. A special assembly was held to offer deep Condolences to the bereaved families of thedeparted soul. The untimely demise of Master Sourabh Soubhagya Moharana and Ms. Prerna Nandaof our school was heart breaking. Special prayers were offered by the teachers and students on 10th

July 17 as a mark of tribute to the departed souls.
