OBSERVATION 1

Situation:Despite free tuition, many high school students in a public school in Zamboanga Peninsula have many drop out. Records show that more than 50% of the students have already dropped out before the middle of the school year.

What should be: Students are expected to finish high school because it is free. They should not drop out. On the contrary, a big number of students dropped out ( Discrepancy)

OBSERVATION #2 Many students nowadays are very

engrossed on the use of internet. Studies shows that the used of internet have both positive and negative effect on the students’ academic performance in school.

WHAT SHOULD BE?

Students are expected to use internet that could have a direct educational advantages.

RESEARCH TITLES:

1. The Effect of Computer-Assisted Instruction on Students’ Achievement in Mathematics”

Observation: Instruction is the experimental group is computer-assisted, while that in the control group is not. The teacher in the experimental group can be trained to use the computer in teaching math. The experiment can be carried out even if only one computer is available in the classroom. This can be provided by the institution.
