What is NHSScotland?
NHS SCOTLAND (NHSS)
• 14 territorial health boards
• 7 ‘special’ health boards
• Population of 5.2 million
•150,000 employees (approx)

NHS Scotland Special Health Board, whose mission is to:
‘ ….help to provide better patient care by providing educational solutions for workforce development. We do this by designing, commissioning, quality assuring and where appropriate providing education for NHSScotland staff. ‘

What is the Scottish Quality Improvement Curriculum?
Framework designed to support an integrated and
planned approach to develop capacity and:
enable systematic, progressive professional development
support large-scale capacity-building in improvement
articulate goals and standards of achievement in knowledge, skills and behaviours for staff in different roles
support self-directed, individual pathways through learning
be used locally and nationally
align with and use existing relevant education and resources
facilitate commissioning of professional development and resources

Role Description: Foundation Group - NHS Staff (All)

applicability in their context to embed Framework

• Available to all staff via the QI hub website
