MARKETS 2016 Davistown RSL 19 Murna Road. 9am to 2pm Mar 20, Apr 17, June 19, July 17, Aug 21, Nov 20 Point Clare 209 Brisbane Water Drive Autumn Fair 9am 3pm 7 th May. Spring Fair 9AM 2PM 15 th Oct. Hi all, I‟m thankful for the cooler weather and the welcoming rain after some of the hottest days we‟ve ever had in many years – and it‟s nicer to ride my bicycle when it‟s 21 degrees, rather than 31! There are lots of things happening at Fairhaven that I‟d like to share with you. Here are some of them. More information sessions are to be held to assist those who are keen to get funding packages under the NDIS. Thanks to Janie and everyone who has assisted our stakeholders understand what is needed to get one‟s individual support plan right. The first people to transition to the NDIS will be our supported residents. Our community participants will follow and finally all our supported employees in our various ADE‟s will make the transfer. Critical to all of this happening is the need for our staff to be trained in customer service and person-centred support. Some training has already commenced and we will be having more training rolled out in the coming months. Among the many and varied things we are doing, we are also working on a funding submission to help our ADE‟s transition under the NDIS. We will have to demonstrate that we can operate our ADE businesses profitably and to the highest quality standards. The Government has asked us to look at a variety of ways to improve business performance and I appreciate your support and patience in adapting to the changes that we‟ve already made and the changes that will need to take place later in the year. Our NSW Trains contract is progressing well and we have had great positive feedback from them. Thanks to Miriana, Grant and the team for their excellent work. I was at a NSW Trains forum in Canberra recently and met a number of people with whom we need to build relationships with in order to get new business. Our challenge is to get the right business that gives us reasonable margins and consistency of work for our ADE‟s. If you are in Sydney on Sunday 1 May or 2 May, please drop in to our Fairhaven stall at the Naturally Good Food Expo at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park, where we will be exhibiting our packaging capability to the organic market in order to gain some new business. There‟s great news about our Kincumber project with construction going well ahead of schedule. We have been informed by the builders that our residents could move in before the end of May. However negotiations on the Booker Bay project are still underway between two government departments and local land councils. The tentative date for a resolution of the matters is the end of July and we look forward to a positive decision being made which will benefit the community. Once our residents move back to Kincumber, we will have the capacity to accommodate new participants with funding packages into our leased accommodation. So please tell your friends that Fairhaven can provide accommodation for them if they have an NDIS package. We would love to assist them. Our Fare Cravin kitchen is now fully operational and ready to serve popular hot meals with the cooler weather fast approaching us. Thanks to Chris Dawson and our awesome maintenance crew for the great work they‟ve done in transforming the kitchen. Our Cafe is also getting ready for three major events the Toast the Coast food and wine festival, our own Spring Fair on 7 May and our Wild Food experience on 20 May, so thank you Jodie, James and the team for your efforts. We would love for you to support us at these events and please tell your friends about them. I‟d like to welcome Tracey Honig who is working part time with us as our digital marketing Coordinator. I also welcome our new supported employee Anna Kettles and new Life Choices participants Ken Jones and Howard Henler. It‟s great to have you at Fairhaven. Let me wish you and yours a very happy Easter. I hope you are able to take time to have a break. Best Regards, Jim Buultjens CEO Quality Circle Newsletter

2015 Christmas Party!

W.O.W Day – 11th May 2016.

Throughout the POSM Christmas Indent program, we offered our partners the opportunity to order our bracelet box with the bracelet cushion pre-packed inside. This is a simple change to make but during our busiest period saved our store staff a lot of time when receiving and storing their POSM orders. To help us with this project we worked with a co-pack organisation on the Central Coast who provide necessities including accommodation, employment and community support to people with a disability. Fairhaven Services have been in operation since 1962, they are partially funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs however they rely heavily on private enterprise projects such as our packaging project to be able to support workers and their families. On top of their incredible work supporting people with a disability in the community, Fairhaven Services are also a learning organisation who work with Registered Training Organisations to provide work placement for learners completing their certifications to work in community services and with people with a disability. Below are some pictures of the Fairhaven team working on our POSM product.

Fairhaven Services were devastated by a fire caused by an electrical fault that destroyed their Tuggerah facility in May 2014. Our project was one of the first jobs in their rebuilt facility. It came at a time when the work and support were much needed; we have continued to work with Fairhaven Services this year. They have packed the cushions into the Mother‟s Day Boxes we are using for the glittering heart bracelet gift set and will continue to prepack the bracelet boxes with cushions as we launch this as a solution for partners to order on the portal.

Pacific Co-Pack Tuggerah have undertaken a photo shoot for Pandora to be published

in their next International magazine! Below is what their insert read.

Included in our celebrations was a fantastic drama story from our participants at our Thursday drama group with Joe Cassar.
