    TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION (TEC)

    Vacancies

    The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to thefollowing posts:

    (i) Planning Officer(ii) Quality Assurance and Accreditation Officer(iii) Programme Officer(iv) Assistant SecretarySalaries, Duties and Qualifications:Details on the above posts are available on the TEC website, http://www.tec.mu/vacancies.php. These are also availableat the reception of the Tertiary Education Commission, Rduit.

    Note:Posts (i) to (iii) will be on a contract basis of 2 years; and

    Post (iv) will be on the permanent and pensionable establishment.

    Age Limit:Applicants should not be over 65 years [for posts (i) to (iii)] and should not be over 40 years [for post (iv)] ofage at the closing date, unless already employed by the Tertiary Education Commission or by any other Parastatal Body orin the Civil Service.

    Mode of Application: Applications should be submitted on the prescribed forms which can be downloaded from TECswebsite (www.tec.mu) or which are available from the reception of the Tertiary Education Commission, Rduit. Allapplications should be submitted with full particulars of qualifications and experience together with photocopies of alleducational certificates and addressed to the Officer-in-Charge, TEC.

    The envelope should clearly indicate the post/posts applied for on the top left-hand corner.

    Inaccurate or incomplete filling of application forms and non-submission of photocopies of certificates may entaildisqualification of candidates.

    Closing Date: The applications should reach the Commission before 15.00 hrs on 18 January 2013 at latest.

    Only the best qualified candidates will be called for interview. The Commission reserves the right not to make anyrecruitment as a result of this advertisement.

    SCHEME OF SERVICE

    Organisation Tertiary Education Commission

    Post Quality Assurance and Accreditation Officer

    Salary Rs 37,500 54,500 (salary as per Review of Pay Grading Structures of PRB 2008 tobe adjusted in line with salary revision of PRB Recommendations 2013).

    Qualifications

    A. A postgraduate degree in Education / Quality Management from a recogniseduniversity.

    B. At least three years teaching and research experience at tertiary level in anyarea.

    C. Candidates should:(i) Show commitment to the enhancement of the quality of teaching; and(ii) Possess good communication and report writing skills.

    Knowledge of quality issues in tertiary education and credit transfer is desirable.

    Candidates should produce written evidence of experience/knowledge claimed.

    Duties

    1. To assist in the execution of policies for the development, maintenance andenhancement of academic standards in the tertiary education sector.

    2.

    To conduct needs analysis with appropriate mechanisms/instruments for theimprovement of quality of teaching and learning in the sector.

    3. To assist in the implementation of the quality assurance programmes of theCommission.

    4. To help co-ordinate quality assurance activities in the tertiary education sectorincluding both private and public institutions.

    5. To perform such cognate duties as may be assigned.Age Limit Applicants should not be over 65 years of age
