Uninstalling old QST Mobile application

You must uninstall the old QST Mobile application before downloading and installing the new QST Mobile Beta application on your Blackberry device. In order to do that follow the steps below.

Preserve user settings

1. In order to preserve your settings from your current application, you must save your settings before uninstalling the application or downloading and installing the new QST Mobile Beta application.

2. To do that, while logged into your current QST Mobile application, go to the Save Settings icon on the main application screen and select it.

3. When asked to confirm, select Ok. This will save your settings on the server, so that when you start the new QST Mobile Beta application, you will be set up with your saved settings for Quotes, Charts and other application modules.

4. Exit the application. Your settings are saved on server and you are ready to uninstall the old QST Mobile Beta application.

5. On your BlackBerry Home Screen, go to the Options icon and select it.

6. Inside Options, find the Advanced Options in the list and select it. On some BlackBerry models, this may not be present and you can go straight to Applications.

7. Find and select Applications in the list.

8. Scroll down the applications list to the QSTMe application (full name may be different depending on which version you have).

9. Bring up the menu and select Delete.

10. You will be asked if you are sure, select Delete. After the application is removed, you may need to restart your device. Your Blackberry device is now prepared for downloading and installing the new QST Mobile Beta

application.

Installing the new QST Mobile Beta application for Blackberry

Follow the next steps to download and install the new QST Mobile Beta application on your Blackberry device.

Download and install

1. On the Blackberry Home screen, select the internet Browser icon.

2. Press the Blackberry Menu button to bring up Browser’s menu. Select Go To from the menu and enter the following URL as seen in the picture below.

3. The link will get you to the download page. Scroll down and select QST Mobile Beta.

4. You will see some general information about the application. Press the Download button. Download progress bar will appear and the download and install process will start.

5. Wait for the download to finish. When it’s complete, you can select Ok and Exit, or you can select Run to start the application right away. Please check the application permissions for optimal application setup.

Setting application permissions

After installing the application, you can set the permissions for it regarding connections, interactions and user data. Depending on your device model, the option to configure permissions will appear right after the installation is complete, but you can set them later as well.

6. On your BlackBerry device, go to Options, and select Advanced Options.

7. Inside Advanced Options, scroll down and select Applications.

8. Scroll down the applications list until you get to QST_Mobile_BB.

9. Bring up the menu, and in the menu select Edit Permissions.

10. This will bring you to the permissions screen where you can configure several options. It is recommended that you put all permissions to Allow so that the application works in optimal conditions.

Starting application

11. Launch QST Mobile Beta application from the Blackberry Home Screen, or from the specific default Download folder on your device.

12. On the QST Mobile Beta login screen, make sure that Load settings from server is checked to load the settings you saved before the installation.

13. Your username and password will be automatically retrieved from server. If there is no username or password stored on server for your device, you will have to enter it manually.

14. Select Login to start.

What’s New

QST Mobile Beta for Blackberry has been redesigned for faster speed and increased security. The application will provide you with reliable real time / delayed data (according to your provisioning packages). Several Direct TCP connection issues, caused by some mobile internet providers or carrier networks, have been eliminated.

Login and Main Application Screen

Main screen has been redesigned with larger icons for a better view of the application features.

Quotes

Insert title row: You can now insert title rows in your currently selected position by opening the menu,

going to Rows, and selecting Insert title row.

Properties: Update levels have been removed. You will receive all updated data for your preferred

contracts every time any quote gets its updates (the updates are real time or delayed, according to your

subscription packages).

Properties: Show last trade size has been renamed to Show Size and affects the display of Last, Bid and

Ask price columns. The trade size is represented along the price value.

Alarms: The New Alarm and Edit Alarm interfaces have been redesigned for faster input and easy editing.

Also, Sound on property has been renamed to Mute. The layout has been redesigned so that the most

important alarm triggering properties can be edited first.

Buy and Sell options have been added to the menu, allowing you to place order entry directly from the

Quotes module. You will place the Buy or Sell order on the currently selected contract. You can also press 1

on the keyboard for Buy order and 3 for Sell order as a shortcut. You must be logged in with your order entry

account to use these features. If you are not, it will prompt you to log in now. More information about placing

orders in the Order Entry section below.

Charts

Orientation has been removed as an option from New Chart and Properties.

Resolution: Quarterly has been added as an option for chart resolution.

Tick charts: You can now set the number of ticks for a tick chart on the New Chart or Properties screens.

You can select from various pre-set values or enter a custom value.

Indicators: You can apply up to 4 indicators to a chart. You can select from a list containing all indicators you

have been granted access to, according to your provisioning.

Edit Indicators: You can edit the indicator properties by clicking on the indicator.

News

You can now stay up to date with news from different major News Providers, according to your news

packages subscription.

News Headlines are filtered by several default categories. News color scheme allows you to quickly identify

the hot news of the moment.

You can perform search for certain news by bringing up the menu and selecting Search News. You can

search keywords in news body, headlines or both. There are several conditions for the keywords, to search

for all words, any words, exact expression or whole words.

While reading a news body, click on Related News to see a list of links to similar news, allowing easier

navigation between related news.

User Settings

You can now save settings on device, server or both. This applies to the Save Settings module from the

application’s home screen, the Save Settings option found in the menu in Quotes and Charts, and the save

settings prompt that appears when logging out.

Settings from your mobile application can be ported to desktop and online versions of QST as well, if they are

saved on the servers.

If you load your settings from server, a workspace called Mobile Data should appear in the desktop and

online version, which contains all quotes, charts and other data you have stored on your mobile version.

Changes saved in the Mobile Data workspace will also be reflected next time you log in on your BlackBerry.

Order Entry

Order Entry features are available according to the user subscription information.

Order Entry has been added to the application. It consists of several order entry related modules.

Order Entry Login: You must come here first before you are able to place any orders. You will be asked to

enter a valid Order Entry username and password, and your provider and firm ID as needed. If you attempt

to use any other order entry feature while not logged in, you will be asked to and redirected to the login

screen.

Orders & Positions: This module lets you view the orders you have placed already in a table. You can

monitor the status of the orders, make changes to them or even cancel them from here. The table can be

filtered to show or hide certain types of orders, and you can set which columns you want to see.

Account Information: This is where you can see several pieces of information related to your order entry

account.

Order Ticket: The interface for placing orders. You can select the contract, the price and the type of the

order, as well as set different conditions to the order as well. In this module you can also enable or disable

several popup messages. This module is also brought up if you use Buy and Sell in the Quotes section, or if

you modify an order from the Orders and Positions table.

Whenever an order is placed or its status changes (such as being filled, rejected, replaced or cancelled), a

popup message will appear on your screen informing you about the change.
