WHEREAS in terms of Section 14(1) of the NCTE Act, 1993 ~.Veerasamy ChettiarEducational & CharltabteTrust, Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu has submitted anapplication .to the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE for grant of recognition toS.Veerasamy Chettiar College of. Education, T.N. -Puthukudi, Puliangudi Post,Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District-627855, Tamilnadu for M.Ed course of one yearduration with an annual intake of 25(Twenty fivej.Students.

2. AND WHEREAS on scrutiny of the application submitted by the institution, thedocuments attached therewith the affidavit and the input received from the

1'----- ------ --v1sitifig-team in the-form of report-and videoqraphy, tl:le .Commirtee.Js.satisfiedthat the institution fulfills the requirements under the provisions of NCTE Act,Rules and relevant Regulations including the Norms and Standards for the saidteacher education programme -such as instructional facilities, infrastructuralfacilities, library, accommodation, financial resources, laboratories etc for runningthe programme and has appointed duly qualified teaching staff as per NCTEnorms.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 14(3)(a) of theNCTE Act, 1993, the Southern Regional Committee hereby grants recognition toS.Veerasamy Chettiar College of Education, T.N. Puthukudi, PuliangudiPost, Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District-627855, Tamilnadu for conductingM.Ed course of one year duration with . an annual intake of 25(Twenty Five)students under clause. 7(12) of Regulations dated.13.01.2006. This order ofrecognition shall be prospective and take effect from the date of issue of thisorder, subject to fulfillment of the following:

i) The institution shall, within one month of the receipt of recognition order,convert the endowment fund account into a joint account to be operatedalong with an official of the Southern Regional Committee.

ii) The institution shall comply with the various other norms and standardsprescribed in the NCTE regulations, 'as amended from time to time ..

iii) The institution wi u ensure- thatOne. Professor, One Reader and Thre'eLecturers faculty members: duly, approved by theaffiliatinq University arein position for an intake of 25 studentsbefore commencement of thecourse and a report to this effect shall be sent-to the Southern RegionalCommittee immediately.

5. The institution shall make admissions only after it obtains affiliation from theexamining body.

4. Further, the recognition is subject to fulfillment of all such other requirements as maybe prescribed by other regulatory bodies like UGC, affiliating University / bodies,State Government etc, as applicable.

6. The institution shall submit to the Regional Committee a Self-Appraisal Report at theend of each academic year along the statement of annual accounts duly audited by aChartered Accountant.

7. The institution shall maintain & update the Web-site as per provisions of NCTERegulations.

8. If the institution contravenes any of the above conditions or any of the provisions ofthe NCTE Act, Rules, Regulations and Orders made or issued there under, theRegional Committee shall withdraw the recognition under the provisions of Section17(1) of the NCTE Act.

T.N. Puthukudi, Puliangudi Post, Sivagiri Taluk, Tlrunelvell District - 627855, Tamilnadu forM.Ed. course with an intake of 25 students vide-order no. F.SRO/NCTE/M.Ed/2007-2008l219 dated0910412008. • ,

2. AND WHEREAS, NCTE Hqrs. vide their letter no. F.No.49-4/2010/PT/NCTE(N&S)1dated 30thJuly, 2010 has informed that the enhancement in the intake of one unit of M.Ed. course programmefrom 25 to 35 has been notified vide National Council for Teacher Education Amendment Regulation,201cf"in the Gazette of India on 26th July 2010. The amendment stipulates that the intake beincreased from existing 25 to 35 students from the current session 2010-11, without creation of anyadditional infrastructure and instructional facilities. NCTE Hqrs has directed to intimate all theinstitutions of each region having approved M.Ed. Programme of 25 students by issuing a letter thatthey may enhance it upto 35 students, accordingly.

3. NOW THEREFORE enhancement of intake of 10 seats from existing 25 to 35 is permitted toS. Veerasamy Chettiar College of Education, T.N. Puthukudi, Puliangudi Post, Sivagiri Taluk,Tirunelveli District - 627855, Tamilnadu for M.Ed. course with effect from the session 2010-2011till further orders without creation of any infrastructura! and instructional facilities.

ORDER

WHE~EAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sectiontz) of Section 32 of the NationalCounc~1 for Teacher Education Act, 1993(73 of 1993), and in supersession of the NationalCouncil for Te~cher Education [Recognition Norms and Procedure] Regulations, 2009, theNational Council for Teacher Education has notified the Regulations, 2014 on 1.12.2014.

2. AND WHEREAS, the institution, S.Veerasamy Chettiar College of Education, T.N.Pu.thu~udi, Puliangudi Post, Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District-627855, Tamilnadu has byaffidavit consented to come under New Regulations and sought for one unit in M.Ed, whichrequires additional facilities

3. AND WHEREAS, on scrutiny it is found that the institution has not maintained/revalidated thefixed deposit receipts towards Endowment and Reserve Funds.

4. AND WHEREAS, it has been decided to permit the institution an intake of one unit of 50students subject to the institution fulfilling following conditions namely,

I. The institution shall submit revalidated FDRs of the enhanced values, in joint ·accountwith the SRC before ~e, 2015 failing which the recognition will be withdrawn.

II. I'ne i'nstitutlOOshail create additional facilities that include (a) additional infrastructure, (b)additional funds, (c) additional staff as per Requlations, 2014 and inform RegionalCommittees with required documents by October 31, 2015.

III. The applicant-institution for additional unit will be required to submit the requireddocuments such as land documents, Encumbrance Certificate (EC), Land Use Certificate_(LUC), Building Plan (BP) and the Approved staff list in the specified proforma availableon the ~ to the. Regional Committee in proof of having provided additional facilitiesbefore October 31, 2015. Building Completion Certificate (BCC) may be given along withotFierdocumentsiraVaiiable, otherwise it can also be given to the Visiting team at thetime of inspection.

IV. The Regional Committee~ shall arrange for ~ of documents, inspection of thesepremises and check adherence to these conditions by 20 Feb, 2016. If it is found by theRegional Committee that the institution fails to comPJYWlth 'fileSe requirements, theinstitutions shall not be permitted to admit students for the academic year 2016-2017.

5. Now therefore, in the light of the above and in terms of Section 14(3) of NCTE Act and inaccordance with the Requlations, 2014, the Southern Regional Committee, ,NCTE hereby grantsrecognition to S.Veerasamy Chettiar College of Education, T.N. Puthukudi, Puliangudi Post,Sivagiri Taluk, Tirunelveli District-627855, Tamilnadu for conducting M.Ed programme of twoyears duration with an annual intake of 50 students (one unit) from the academic session 2015-16 subject to submission of revalidated EPR~ of ~e enhanced value in joint account withthe SRC before 30 June, 2015 and fulfillment of the conditions mentioned at II & '" hereinbefore31.10.2615.- .

6. Further, the recognition is subject to fulfilment of other requirements as may be prescribed byother regulatory bodies like UGC, affiliating University/Body, the State Government etc, asapplicable.

-2-8. The institutions shall maintain & update its web-site as per provisions of NCTE Regulationsand always display following as mandatory disclosure:-

a) Sanctioned programmes along with annual intake in the institution:b) Name of faculty and staff in full as mentioned in school certificate along with their

qualifications, scale of pay and photograph.c) Name of faculty members who left or joined during the last, quarter:d) Names of Students admitted during the current session along with qualification,

Percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and in the entrance test, if any, date ofadmission, etc.;

e) Fee charged from students;f) Available infrastructural facilities;g) Facilities added during the last quarter;h) Number of books in the library, journals subscribed to and additions, if any, in the last

quarter;i) The affidavit with enclosure submitted along with application.j) The institution shall be free to post additional relevant information. if it so desires.k) Any false or incomplete information on website shall render the institution liable for

withdrawal of recognition.

If the institution Contravenes any of the above conditions or the provision of the NCTE Act,Rules, Regulations and Orders made of issued there under , the institution will render itselfvulnerable to adverse action including withdrawal of recognition by the regional committee underthe provisions of Section 17(1) of the NCTE Act.
