Our hosting week for Family Promise was another success!
Thank you to all who volunteered and donated items and gift cards.
Especially those who helped set-up and tear-down (Tom and
Marianne Novak, Larry and Diana Kowalski, Alan Miller, and Chris
Cherry); prepared meals and fellowship (Watts Family, Elvin and Kathy
Cassity, Wigger Family, Grundman Family, John and Kathy Chapin,
and Cherry Family); and stayed overnight (Matthew and AnnaMarie
Fallon, Mark Richardt, Bill and Julie Jankowski, John and Jane Al-
bright, Chris Cherry, and Andy Kult). We could not help these families
without your support, so THANK YOU!
Our last two hosting weeks for 2017 will be August 13th–20th and
October 1st–8th. Mark your calendars and let us know if you would
like to volunteer. If you need more information about Family Promise,
feel free to contact Kylie Kult or Beth Cherry, or go to our website and

“God has found me worthy to be a minister of His Gospel,
and so when I speak, I strive to please God and not men.”
1 Thessalonians 2:4
+Dear Friends,
This weekend, we celebrate the great Solemnity of
the Ascension! We hear the somewhat familiar “Jesus
said to His disciples” in today’s Mass. Perhaps it is too
often we listen to the words as if they were a bit of his-
torical writing and not much more.
We might instead perk up our own ears when we
hear these words. Instead of hearing “Jesus said to
His disciples”, why not hear “Jesus says TO ME.”
That would be very fitting at this celebration of the
Ascension. For His words to His disciples and to us,
today call for a renewed dedication to sharing the truth
and life that come to us from Jesus through His Bride,
the Church. The world is hungry for this life and truth.
It is our privilege to share this!
Next weekend, our annual celebration of Easter
concludes with the Solemnity of Pentecost. Jesus
promised His infant Church that He would send an Ad-
vocate; One Who would remain with the Church for all
ages to come.
The Holy Spirit comes that we might have life. Life
in the Holy Spirit is a life that is dedicated to continuing
the life and work of Christ Jesus on this earth. As the
fifty-day celebration of Easter draws to a close next
weekend, let us pray that the same Holy Spirit given
the first Apostles at Pentecost, given us through the
Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, will
strengthen us in our own personal efforts to live a life
of service and loyalty to Christ and His Church!
I’ll close with the greatest Gift our Ascended Lord
gave to His Church: the essential matter of the Holy
Mass is its participation in the Liturgy of heaven. In
other words: “that’s what the Eucharist is all about!
The Eucharist we celebrate on earth has its source in
the heavenly Liturgy. And the heavenly Liturgy is the
summit to which our Eucharistic celebration looks.”
“And yet, how many of our people in the pews…
how many of our priests at the altar…feel that they are
being lifted up to partake in the heavenly Liturgy?”
Thanks for reading and God bless us all!
“He is there! He Who loves us
So much!” St. John Vianney
Adoration: Thursday 6:00-9:00 p.m. Benediction: Friday 8:15 a.m.

The Service Specialist

No job too big or small.
We do all service calls.
Thanks to the gentlemen who helped get buckets un-
der all the roof leaks, and mopped up the pond by the
back door in the RE building during the recent heavy rains.
You know our faith is vital for our temporal and spiri-
tual life. You know you want your children to get the best
education in the faith possible. You know that you are the
most important and effective former of faith for your chil-
dren. Now find out about a program to supplement your
children's religious education at home: A Family of Faith
from the Sophia Institute. With training help from the par-
ish, you will be able to lead your children through the Cate-
chism, and cover all facets of our Catholic faith.
Our recent parish survey indicated your interest in our
young people's faith formation - perhaps this could be a
useful supplementary tool for your family. Materials will be
available in the narthex after the Masses for the next few
weeks for you to preview and respond, or find more infor-
mation on the website: sophiainstitute.com
Have you ever played "stick it to the dealer" in euchre?
Let's try it to find some catechists! Instead of volunteering
yourself, nominate someone you know who you think
should share their love of and familiarity with the Catholic
faith with our young parishioners. Fill out a nomination
form in the narthex, or send Matthew a message at mqpy-
You can still build your child(ren)’s faith during the
summer at Vacation Bible School, here at our parish on
the evenings of June 11-15. Watch for more information
on sign-ups very soon!
