6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing the product?

KeynoteGreen screen: We used Keynote to create text with a green background. Using text tools on Keynote we added animation to the entry and exit of the titling. Then exported it via QuickTime, imported it into iMovie and inserted it on top of our footage using 'Green screen'.

With previous projects I’d use text inserts from iMovie itself which had a limited amount of fonts and animations.

iMovie Editing:We used the software by Apple, iMovie, to do our entire movie edit. We also found it easier to adjust sound in relation to the video edit, so we added separately recorded dialogue and music straight to iMovie.

garagebandSound:We used it for mixing, correcting or assembling sound effects together and editing music; songs we downloaded for the trailer or opening, we had to make longer and I did this with Garageband.

Photoshop

Movie poster:We used Photoshop to edit and create our movie poster by overlapping and merging two shots from our characters on set.

Institutions:We also used Photoshop to make our production company logo.

cameras

We used this camera to record any dialogue or on-scene sound effects as we did not have access microphone. Also used for filming behind the scenes.

For a lot of our scenes we used a tripod but for very high (birds eye) and low angles our cameraperson had to hold the camera.

We used these cameras as the main filming camera and it had better quality.We were forced to use two different ones as we had some problems with the battery for the first camera.

Websites

We used YouTube a lot when looking for music to use for our opening and trailer.

Freesound allows you to download any of its music or sound effects free from copyright.

This site allowed us to convert YouTube videos to mp3’s.

We also used Google Images a lot for images to do with our editing and photos.

Posting work online

We use the website ‘Blogger’ to post all the work we’ve done including out marketing and productions.

We upload all videos to YouTube first then embed them onto our group or individual blogs.
