I was comissioned to create covers for the new textbooks by our Department of Education, for use at the next academic year.
Design, layout and assembly of a number of business decks. Involves reimagining the brand and creating a unified look-feel to properly represent the brand’s image, making sense of various data (graphs, charts, etc.) and turning them into easy-to-understand visuals.

Ysabel or Ysa is an architect / interior designer who tasked me to recreate her brand. She wanted to deviate from the image of how “architecture” is very masculine.
The above example is the final brand I developed for her.

My main responsibilities revolved around creating and developing new packaging labels, stickers and boxes for new products, and redesigning old ones.
I was then part of a small, but strong team of ten designers who are tasked to be the in-house ad agency. We did everything from producing marketing campaigns, product development from concept to production, PR initiatives, and everything else in between.
Personally, I have designed the most number of produced packaging among my team, and have art directed a few of them.
These include (some are not shown in this portfolio) the ff:
• Pure Strength (men’s personal care line)• Human Nature Home Care• Furry Kind (pet care and grooming)• HN Kids (kids shampoos and soaps)• Shampoos, conditioners, salves, creams,elixirs, etc.
I was also the resident illustrator as I have been influetial in creating more than a few illustrated works that appeared in various media.

These two covers are personal favorites of mine. I was commissioned to design textbook covers for two of the most popular Filipino pieces of historical literature: the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo (loosely translated as “Touch Me Not” and “The Filibuster”)
The concept was to make a montage, but since the two novels have deep roots in the church, I decided to make it look and feel like a stained-glass scene. These took a while to put together and turned out to be two of the most rewarding design tasks I’ve accomplished to-date.

In the background - the church bell tower and the house balcony - are stages with which the culmination of each book are set in.
These books are produced and published by Don Bosco Press, Makati, Philippines.

PROCLAIM SONG BOOK AND ALBUM(LAYOUT AND DESIGN)
I was the lead designer for this project, and the concept was to give a modern take on the traditional Catholic hymnal. PROCLAIM! is a compedium of new songs for the Catholic Mass and it had to look fresh, but not moving away from imagery of the Church. In this design, I wanted to focus on texture and geometric shapes to give a more contemporary feel.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE’S MASTERPIECE?( BOOK ILLUSTRATION )
This commision needed me to illustrate ten different influential people for a book. This was a fun project becase I got to research a particular set of people whom I didn’t really know of, to make a convincing transition from person to paper.

I like weddings and tying the knot. As a matter of fact, I recently got hitched to a wonderful woman. So as an added hobby and source of extra income, I decided to take on wedding invitation design.
