In order to demonstrate the capacity of corrender under natural conditions, samples of corrender and conventionally galvanized steel strip were exposed in the field at a total of 14 different locations. Field testing conducted in collaboration with the French Corrosion Institute is intended to ensure that varying temperatures, precipitation volumes, humidity levels, pollution loads (SO

2 and NO2) and distances to the sea are taken into account.

65% higher degree of protection

After one year, corrender demonstrated significantly lower loss in mass and thus higher levels of corrosion protection at each of the locations than conventionally galvanized steel strip. The total average improvement across all locations was higher than 65%. Some locations even noted an increase in corrosion protection of more than 80%. The increase in protective effect was no lower than 40% at any of the locations.
