PUTRA BINABANGUN SDN. BHD. (PBBSB), a Bumiputeraowned company was established in August 1981 asBuilding & Civil Engineering Contractor.

During its early years, PBBSB managed to secure severallocal contracts and survived in the highly competitiveconstruction industry.

Today, after years in operation, PBBSB’s capability andsuperb contract management skill has been recognizedby both the private and public sector which led to theaward of the Class A with Bumiputera status from PusatKhidmat Kontraktor (PKK). PBBSB is also registered withthe Contruction Industry Development Board (CIDB) witha Grade G7 status (Build ing & C ivi l Eng ineer).

With proven track record, PBBSB has managed to securebigger projects. Today, PBBSB has established itself as ahighly capable Contractor and with its efficient projectmanagement skill and expertise, it can handle projectsof various sizes. PBBSB intends to associate itself withother bigger corporations, local and international, toundertake any mega projects in Malaysia.

J-Lay Tower

One method for installing subsea pipelines in deepwateris by J-lay installation. Pipe stalks with a length up to 6joints are upended and welded to the seagoing pipe ina near vertical ramp.

The ramp angle is chosen in such a way that it is in linewith the pipe catenary to the seabed. The J-lay methodis very suitable for deepwater as the pipe leaves the laysystem in an almost vertical position. The pipeline is onlybent once during installation (at the seabed) which isadvantageous for installing pipelines that are sensitiveto fatigue.

Compared to other lay methods, J-lay has a relativelylow production rate due to the limited number of workstations. The J-lay method is less suitable for shallowwaters as this requires a steep departure angle.

PBBSB have a solid experience in del ivering completeJ-lay systems - from concept design to start-up ofoperations - including tower structures, tower angleadjustment systems, pipe handling equipment, line-upsystems and the control system commissioning onboard.

In addition, our Engineers are continuously researchingsolutions to further improve our equipment and theirapplication to offer our clients the most efficient solutionsin the market.

Common Uses

- Deepwater pipeline construction- Deepwater pipeline repair

Our J-Lay Towers land on the pipe-lay vessel and providesa platform enabling the pipeline workers to weld, testand coat the pipeline in the vertical tower. The pipelineis then fed vertically down to rest on the ocean floor ina J-Lay fashion.

Normal S-Lay or horizontal pipe lay methods exert veryhigh stresses on the pipeline during deepwater laysprimarily due to the pipelines own weight when thepipeline is fed off the pipe-lay stinger in a near horizontalposition.

Job Scope:

To manage overall of REVAMP Project (engineering, cost control as per BQ, quality control, schedule,environment, health and safety management) updates JSA (Jobs Safety Analysis), working proceduresfor overall project activities.

To work independently with high level of drive, initiative and quality assurance.

To complete the REVAMP/TA project activities in the correct sequence.

Included to review all Electrical, Instruments and Mechanical design documentation (cable size, voltagedrop, electrical single line diagrams, material take - offs for all electrical and mechanical systems).

To modify (engineering and fabrication) all Furnace Convection coil and piping systems (economizer,steam generator, super heater coil and gas & fuel piping system).

To select All suitable Sub - Contractors after consideration all aspect (Cost, Schedule, Technicalteams and other) related to the project.

To provide and manage the Hydro test teams for All Convection tube and new Burners Fuel& Gas piping lines.
