Habitat for Humanity: Building on Faith
Habitat’s work is driven by the desire to give tangible expression to the love of God through the work of eliminating substandard housing. Habitat has an open-door policy: All who desire to be a part of this work are welcome, regardless of religious beliefs or background. As a Habitat for Humanity tradition, we present a gift to each new homeowner - at our dedication ceremonies, a Bible is given (if appropriate).
How does Habitat work?
Habitat for Humanity Canada’s affiliates work in
partnership with people in need to build simple,
decent, affordable houses.
These partnerships include:
Local volunteers and donors Churches and service organizations Local businesses The partner families
The completed houses are sold to partner families
at no profit, and with zero-interest mortgages.
