    Preface

An ever-increasing business in todays world, in any organization the most important and

essential resource is social and economic well being of the contemporary Indian society. Every

enterprise requires money, material and management. All these facts are important but even to

mobilize them you need MAN. Therefore human resources need to be managed very effectively

and their welfare is equally important for successful achievement of goals of an organization.

With the growth of large market for sophisticated product and service in the last five to six

decades, the role of people as mere labourers diminished. Decision making in organization

needed greater skills of management. Social security is as old as society itself, but its form has

evolved according to its needs and the level of social consciousness of the people. The concept

of social security is very dynamic which affects and in turn get affected by others. People

aspiration and needs were not limited to earn some wages but extended to job satisfaction and

    emotional satisfaction.

In this project I have attempted in particular to observe study, analyse and interpret the welfare

facilities provided to the labourers in Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd..
