Small and toy breed dogs have higher energy or calorie requirements per unit of body weight when compared to large and giant breeds. This means that smaller kibble, packed with loads of energy, is preferred for nutrient dense nutrition. This way, they get more protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and calories in fewer kibbles. Small and toy breed dogs should consume more calories per pound of body weight than larger breeds.

Many dogs at 7 years of age are very fi t, active and show few external signs that they’re aging. However, internal changes may start to occur that we don’t or can’t always see. Most senior dogs need adjusted levels of nutrients to maintain an ideal body condition, because their physical activity and basal metabolic rate decrease.

As your dog matures, it is important to ensure you feed your dog a diet that supports their optimal health and body condition.
